The food was delicious — especially the chicken and salmon, which everyone raved about. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented.
The staff truly made the day extra special. The bartender and servers were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The bartender was very in tune with what guests wanted and made sure everyone felt taken care of. The servers even went above and beyond by helping us load and unload gifts, which we greatly appreciated.
We were extremely satisfied with the entire experience and would absolutely recommend Bay Pony Inn to anyone looking to host a special event. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a meaningful day for our family and friends!
I guess it was a buffet. The food it’s ok I had better food selection 4 stars because the salmon was cooked perfectly. The servers cleared plates. I just wished they bring some pitchers of soda in the table so I don’t have to go get it myself.
I was not sure if they did serve the poundcake – it was delish nice and soft.
Food was great, we started off with the arugula salad (I’d prefer more dressing on it) but still good. (Fresh rolls served with butter- but just wish they were served warm)
My husband got the duck (pictured) and I got the butternut squash ravioli which was one of the best I ever had, being the foodies we are that says a lot about that dish!
Finished with the chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream, this was very good as well as you can taste it was made fresh. Had a lot of the chocolate in the middle which was wonderful!
Drinks: We got the dogfish head IPA,
Old fashion with the big cube (pictured) and my favorite Chardonnay (Kendall Jackson)
Keep it up Bay Pony Inn! Certainly worth another trip back here:) God bless and cheers

BACKGROUND: In August, 2025, my partner, Patricia, & I enjoyed a delicious, quality birthday dinner @ BPI. However, in early October, 2025, we dined again @ BPI for an anniversary but the meal was disappointing. As 25+ years satisfied customers, we requested & met privately w/the new owner of BPI in mid-October, 2025, & expressed our concern about the decline in food quality that could drive customers away. Supporting our accusations were photos that were given to the owner & were taken of the August & October meals, which were the same meal. Shown was a notable difference in the 2 meal presentations that projected an image of unsatisfactory quality; the food quality was indeed also disappointing. Each of the 2 mentioned dinners cost ~ $175 each for 2 people, a normal amount for a fine dining restaurant.
Last night (NY eve) we went to the BPI w/3 friends to celebrate 2026. (We have dined @ BPI the 2 previous NY’s eve). The comradery was very good but the dinner was disappointing. My appetizer (fried oysters) were overcooked & crusted. My entree (Jumbo Crab Cakes) had minimal crab meat & was very dry, necessitating a request for sauce to moisten the cakes. The dessert (bread pudding) was also crusty. Although I ordered decalf coffee, I believe that what was served was regular coffee because I couldn’t fall asleep until 3:30 AM the next day. Further, the cost for our 2 dinners, which was similar to the mentioned meals, was $208, which is an increase of 19% since October.
A review of BPI’s website showed that 2 other customers submitted an unfavorable review in the past 6 months. There is a management belief that for every customer that submits a negative review that there are ~ 20+ others who are dissatisfied but do not voice their opinion. Therefore, are there really ~ 40 more dissatisfied customers??
Will we return to our once favored restaurant? Probably NOT since there are many other fine dining restaurants to enjoy a good dinner.
Our server, Deb is so wonderful!
Chicken piccata was so tender! And potatoes Lyonnaise are the best!!!
