We got the heartbreaker roll, seared tuna roll, Vegas roll, out of control roll, pink lady till and the Sakura roll. The tempura shrimp and crab in the rolls weren’t crispy at all. And the seared tuna roll was supposed to have that both inside and on top of the roll, but there was only seared tuna on the top.
Otherwise, service and ambience was great and ayce was $35, which is an average cost.
Gratuity is included in the check, though I’m not sure what percentage. For two people, with tax and gratuity included, the total came to about $90, so it’s definitely on the pricier side.
Service was good. The green tea ice cream was high quality. Free street parking is available after 6 p.m.
If you order any of their tempura, ask for the sauce on the side! bc it comes already drenched in tempura sauce and what seemed like sweet and sour sauce??
After Ichiro closed, this our newest favorite Japanese AYCE restaurant in Westchester, given them a try!
The biggest problem here is that almost every dish is heavily sauced, when it doesn’t need to be. Lightly sauced could be tolerable, but for a kid that enjoys the taste of salmon, he could not stomach the dish because it was swimming in sauce (dad pun ~ intended). Even the noodles had sauce that was too sweet. The only thing that the kids enjoyed from the Kids hibachi menu was the fried rice which had no sauce, just very nicely fried rice. Even the hibachi steak I ordered from the all you can eat menu had way too much sauce; I would recommend putting the sauce on the side so the customer can control how much sauce they will eat.
The service was nice and the restaurant itself was neat and spaced out very well.
Disclaimer: if you are looking for a full Hibachi experience, this place does not offer that. They cook the food Hibachi style in the kitchen, there is no chef that will cook the food at your table as they do not have Hibachi style tables for customers to dine around.
Now on to the good. Their sushi rolls are excellent. If you order the all you can eat sushi rolls, they seem to be the same quality as the other rolls that are al la carte. I ordered about three different rolls (spicy bincho, something that had a wasabi sauce, and a yellowtail roll) and enjoyed each one. I also had the shrimp tempura which was light and fried perfectly. The green tea ice cream was also very good.
If I were to come back knowing what to expect with others that can eat three-four rolls, this will be an excellent experience.
