Food was good. We will go back but we hope to have a better experience next time.
Excellent service from our waitress, Lauren! Look forward to coming back!
Staff & Atmosphere
The staff is phenomenal—friendly, attentive, and always welcoming. No complaints there at all. The interior could use a little fine-tuning; with nothing to absorb sound, it gets extremely loud inside.
Appetizers
This is where the kitchen really shines. The cheese fries are excellent—real shredded cheddar melted over the top, with real bacon (not bits). The beer cheese is slightly spicy and classic, no odd twists. The spinach artichoke dip with fried flour tortillas is fantastic. Onion rings are 10/10. Chicken tenders are excellent. Fried banana peppers were a surprising highlight. Overall, the appetizers are consistently great.
Entrees
This is where we struggled. The burger is advertised as a smash burger, but it isn’t—thick patties that eat more “steamed” than seared. They also default to two patties, which is a lot, and there’s no option for a single patty outside the kids’ menu. (Photo attached)
The smoked brisket sandwich (“Low and Slow”) was extremely disappointing. It arrived as an inch-thick slab of grey beef on a hoagie, with the fat cap intact and unrendered. The meat itself was very tough, without the tenderness you’d expect from properly smoked brisket. It felt less like a matter of preference and more like a preparation issue. Honestly, I was shocked they actually sent that out of their kitchen.
The Caesar salad was also underwhelming. The dressing leaned more vinaigrette than creamy Caesar, and while the components were correct, the flavor just didn’t land.
Suggestions
Since this is a neighborhood spot, we’d love to see the menu evolve a bit. A quesadilla seems like a natural fit given they already offer wraps. The tenders are excellent, so boneless wings with a few sauces would be great. Traditional wings would also fit well on game days. And with slider buns already in use, burger sliders—done in a true smashed style—could be a hit.
Overall
It’s an okay place. We’ll happily return for drinks and appetizers, but after two disappointing entrée experiences, we’re hesitant to branch further into the menu. We really hope they work out the kinks, because this could be a fantastic neighborhood hangout.
The atmosphere is a perfect blend of family friendly and sports bar, with a room divided er and tall booths separating the dining area from the bar/high top area.
The staff were very friendly and authentic as well. The restaurant was clean but not upright—which was the surprising part!
I love the garage doors opening up to the patio—it makes the space feel homey and neighborly.
Overall, this was a great experience! I JUST wish they had Ale-8 in a bottle!
*** follow up: they added material to the ceiling (a while back now) that eliminated the noise issue. One of my fav places to go watch UK games now!!
