Perbacco is STILL bringing out gorgeous, delicious, classic Italian fare from their tiny kitchen. Located almost directly across the street from Jones Hall (a more than perfect location for a before-theater meal), this little restaurant is huge on terrific food. Our meals were beautifully plated and beyond delicious. High marks for having decaf espresso! The staff is attentive and friendly, the owner is watching the sun’s reflection off of the glass towers all around – he lowers the shades at just the perfect moment to ensure diners’ comfort. Mangerai bene! Highly recommend.

This is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant in all of Houston, TX. No matter what you order, I promise you’ll be getting the freshest Italian food around. Beyond the incredible food, the owners and staff are truly wonderful people.

They actually saved me from a complete catering disaster. I had scheduled catering weeks in advance with another local Italian restaurant near my son’s daycare for his birthday—food for 19 children and 2 adults (ages 1–2). On the day of the event, that restaurant canceled on me last minute. I was embarrassed, stressed, and devastated, especially since I had promised lunch to my son and his classmates.

I called Perbacco in a panic and asked if they could possibly help with an order for the very next day. It was a big ask, but the owner immediately said yes and told me to let them know what I wanted—it would be ready by 10:30 AM. The relief I felt was indescribable.

I arrived at 10:15, and the food was ready right on time. They even helped take it to my car. Thank you so much for your commitment, kindness, and for preparing the freshest Chicken Alfredo pasta—the kids absolutely loved it!

We visit here from out of town once a year. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is outstanding. Hands down best place to eat in downtown, and you will never leave without a full, happy belly. Prices are super affordable, too. Thank you!

This little place is a Houston gem. Owner Vittirio has found a way to please theater goers with simple ingredients that please the palate. It feels like visiting your Uncle”s house and enjoying Sunday sauce. Everything is fairly priced.
Red sauce is outstanding. Order any pasta and you can’t go wrong. Don’t forget the Zabaglione for desert.

We’ve been wanting to dine here for years, but with their limited hours and our distance from downtown, it’s been difficult to nail down a reservation. It’s a charming, bright space that you can tell has had a lot of love put into it. We showed up early for our 6pm reservation and the wait staff was patient with us while we waited for our third party to arrive. We started with the burrata and arugula salad. We’d never tasted burrata before and found the cheese beautifully creamy and the salad perfectly proportioned. My husband ordered the linguine capri. It was light, the shrimp and pasta were cooked perfectly and the tomatoes were fresh. He cleaned his plate. I had the gamberi al limone and capers. It was fresh and tasty. The shrimp had a great snap to them when you took a bite. My only regret is not choosing a pasta dish . . . next time, for sure. The gentleman who took our order was very knowledgeable, but didn’t give off that warm and welcoming feeling that we’ve experienced at other establishments.

We got here during lunch and was the rush hour, hence service was not the best. Our silverware was brought on one napkin for us to pick up from :/We sat down and waited a long time to be served. The food was absolutely great. My team on the table enjoyed their meals as well however, the portion was very small I am guessing because of the rush-hour they had to skimp Portions… spent $28 on that one plate:(
Not sure if I will be back

Food was just fine, not bad for the price and for being downtown. Nothing worth getting excited about, got the cesar salad, lasagna and chocolate cake.

If you’re on a budget and want Italian it’ll do the job but if you’re looking for the best then I recommend trying somewhere else.

This Italian restaurant is probably my favorite one downtown, only been here twice but I was delightfully surprised by the quality of the food on both occasions.

My first time visiting was back in 2019 during the workday. It was so busy when I came in, the dining room was packed with so many office workers. I really liked the hustle and bustle though and it gave me a feeling like I was in Little Italy in NYC.

The ambiance is very quaint and we got a table by a window. It’s hard to hear the person seated across from you as the restaurant is super small and the tables are so close together.

I ordered the Linguini Alle Vongole, clams tossed in white wine sauce with Linguini and it was delicious. This pasta dish was ideal for a work lunch as the clam juice and white wine makes eating linguini refreshing and not heavy.
I also had the tiramisu here for dessert, again very light and not overly sweet.

I made a second trip here on August 31, 2023, also during the workday. It was a real nice treat since my colleagues and I came in post lunch-rush and no other patrons were dining in at the time.

The owner himself took our order and all 3 of us opted for pasta paired with the house salad. The house salad is light and refreshing as it’s only drizzled with lemon juice and vinegar. I ordered the Ravioli di Mare with Scallops and Shrimp this time. I’m a huge fan of tomato based dishes in general and this was just right in acidity and creaminess. The portions are generous, the ravioli was tender and pairs nicely with the big scallops and jumbo shrimp. It was so tasty I finished it all and cleaned my plate with the free bread that came with our entrees. My only complaint here is that I wish the ravioli had more basil in it or an addition of spinach would be nice. I love eating vegetables and the dish is missing this element.

FYI, all entrees are priced at $15 and higher. The menu is very short and simple. I would gladly return to sample more items.
