Terrible experience this time at Cafe Roma. On a Thursday before a holiday the place was packed. Three of us waited about ten minutes for a table. Not bad. The host seated us and brought three glasses of water for the table. What was really crappy was the table service. A fourteen top table was getting all the attention and we were solidly ignored for more than ten minutes. Not a drink order, not even an acknowledgment that they’ll be with us. Nothing. When a server finally showed up we ordered everything. Drinks, salad and entrees. That’s when I started a stopwatch on the phone. It took over twenty five minutes for our dinners to arrive. The food was fine. Sorry Cafe Roma, tonight was lousy

I had such high hopes for this place, judging from the reviews.
But it was ok. I asked the host for a booth, I noticed 2 booths were not reserved. He said every booth was reserved, ok, then how come there’s no menus on them?
Alright, I got sat at a table. The lady was super sweet though, she was great. So I am looking over the menu and all of a sudden, they put menus on the booths. Ohhhhh looks like they were JUST NOW reserved, gotcha.
Anyway, I got spaghetti, it needed seasonings badly, the sauce tasted like Ragu, the pasta was a bit al dente & I was not offered parmesan cheese. My friend stated their dish was very bland and the chicken was too dry. I like dry chicken so I wouldn’t have minded.
Sadly I would not come back.

On Saturday night my girlfriend and I went into Cafe Roma to enjoy a nice dinner. As we were walking in we were not greeted by any of the staff, as we assumed it is because we are a younger couple. Throughout my meal I notice every patron that evening walking in and out was greeted and thanked for their business by the owner (presumedly), except for myself. As a young affluent business owner myself I always make it a point to go above and beyond for anybody that I do business. The cherry on top of the whole situation the people leaving before and after us we both thanked for their business on the way out, however we were not. Our server that evening provided great service and was tipped over 20% for her great efforts. This review would have more stars added onto it if I was treated with the same respect as everybody else that evening.

Cafe Roma did an exceptional job catering a lunch for our group of 60 travelers at the Elgin History Museum. Lisa was fantastic to work with. She accommodated all our dietary requests and came up with a wonderful lunch menu for us. Melissa was the on-site staff member. Food was delicious, Melissa was wonderful. Thank you Cafe Roma!!!

Never been here but I had a serious craving for fettuccine alfredo. This place popped up. First of all, it’s located in an office complex right off the highway. Weird vibe. 2nd, the food I ordered to go was 20 bucks and some change. The alfredo (no meat or fish) came with a side salad (caesar or house) and a piece of bread. I tipped 20% so my total was like 24 and some change. They give you like 5 servings of pasta but the pasta has no flavor. Now I know, it’s just alfredo, I might as well have ordered buttered noodles. But no. I’ve had good alfredo plenty of times before. There was no flavor or taste what so ever. Just bland and definitely not worth the money. So now I have 5 servings of pasta that I need to forcefeed myself cuz I can’t let my money go to waste. Anyway, I went to the grocery store the next day and spent more money to fix it. I got cloves of garlic and a bag of shredded cheese. Literally added HALF of a grated garlic clove to some olive oil with salt/pepper, Italian seasoning and a handful of cheese and boom, 10 times better. I tried the salad. Threw it out. The dressing tastes like it came from a bottle. Not one of the good brands either.

Great little Italian restaurant, family owned, delicious food. We had Chicken Marsala and Veal Parmasean. Both meals came with salads and pasta/potatoes. The Tiramisu and Cannoli melt in your mouth. Yum!

I’ve heard about this place for a while and finally was able to visit tonight with my kids and husband. Definitely a great space for young ones in the evening, especially those with sensory or sound sensitivities. Music and lighting was perfect. The space in general was smaller than I expected but that’s not a bad thing.
Our food was 10/10. My girls spilt pizza and fettuccine with shrimp. Salads were great. Definitely nothing bad to say there. It came out warm, fresh, and timely.
Our service was spectacular. Chris was kind, patient, and friendly. She was patient with the kids and very accommodating. We’ll be back soon and hope she’ll also be there too!
