People say the castle may or may not be haunted, which is the most unhelpful kind of haunting. It’s like, “We don’t want to commit to ghosts, but we also want you to think about ghosts the entire time you’re eating.”
Inside, the décor is bright and colorful, very Mexican‑themed, very cheerful. Which is a funny contrast to the outside, where you half expect a knight to challenge you to a duel. The seating, though, is a little tight and kind of disorderly. It feels like they decorated first and then remembered people also need chairs.
They bring you chips and salsa with the menu, which is great. The chips are thick, house‑made, really good. But then you find out a second basket is four dollars. Four dollars. I didn’t know chips could have a cover charge. It feels like the castle ghosts are running a side hustle.
Then you see the menu notes a 3% surcharge for credit cards. More nickel‑and‑diming. At this point I’m like, “Is this a restaurant or a fundraising event for the castle’s ghost union?”
I got the chicken fajitas, my wife got the taco salad. The fajitas came out properly sizzling, which is always exciting. It’s the only food that announces itself like it’s entering a wrestling ring. As Pancho Villa may or may not have once said, “A man who cannot hear the sizzle of fajitas has already surrendered his spirit.”
The food was good. Not amazing, not bad, just solidly in the category of “Yep, that’s food.” The corn tortillas were warm but also hard in places, like they were trying to be both soft and crunchy and didn’t commit to either.
Then the bill comes, and there’s another 3% fee called a “leverage fee.” I don’t even know what that means. I’ve never seen a restaurant charge you for… leverage. I don’t know if I had leverage or they had leverage, but either way, I paid for it.
So yeah, cool building, decent food, fun décor, but a lot of little fees that make you wonder if the ghosts are running the accounting department.
Three stars.
On my visit on October 29th around 5 PM, I was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of my meal. The food was an absolute feast for the senses, bursting with flavor and presented beautifully. The generous portions ensured that I left the table satisfied and content. The reasonable prices made it an excellent value for the deliciousness of the dishes. Even the chips and salsa were a standout, fresh, tasty, and perfectly complementing the main course.
The service at The Enchanted Castle Mexican Grill was another highlight. The friendly and attentive staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They took pride in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and providing guests with a memorable experience.
The convenient location of the restaurant is another plus. Situated right next to the hospital, it offers ample parking, making it an easy and hassle-free choice for visitors.
In conclusion, The Enchanted Castle Mexican Grill is a gem that offers a perfect blend of great food, friendly service, and a unique and enchanting atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking delicious Mexican cuisine in a beautiful and distinctive setting.
Absolutely no. Horrible horrible place. There are five hundred Mexican restaurants in town. Do not do this one.
Love the people running the place, enjoyed the fajitas, the nachos and the chicken in house made mole. Ask for spicy salsa on the side, otherwise food is mild and there’s something for everyone.
The ambience and food could be higher quality (and they could get rid of unnecessary plastic, like straws). It’s not fancy in flavor or decor, but we would eat here again! The people and service are great and there are large screens for sports events and occasional karaoke and the building, Manaresa Castle is interesting.
