Found this place and so happy we decided to enter. Fireside is a simple but refined bistro run by a couple. We were able to talk to the owner; she and the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. For the meal I had a special of salmon cakes and their soup of the day tomato bisque. Everything was delicious and you could tell fresh. Highly recommend to those living in Dixon or nearby. I’m excited to visit again with friends and family!

Best restaurant in all of Dixon! The atmosphere and Ambience is amazing one of a kind. The servers and owner are very personable. Portion sizes are on point you feel completely satisfied after your meal. My salted caramel something was amazing for dessert tonight I highly recommend this place especially if you’re just used to the same old same old around here.

Wonderful food. Great service. Something downtown Dixon has been missing for years. It’s quaint, romantic, quiet, and family-friendly. The menu is concise and simple (yet still hard to choose because everything looked so good.) 5 stars.

I liked this resturante over all. There is not much to bring me back. The decor and location are a little dated. The owner(?) Advised she lost half her staff right before they opened.
Our waiter was new, did not seem to have much experience. While he is a friendly person, he had to come back 3 or 4 times to take our orders again. He was attentive, but his constant apologies made me a little uncomfortable.
The food was decent, but I’m not it matches their price point. My chicken cordon bleu was good. However, the chicken was either frozen or over cooked…I am if the opinion it was both. It kinda killed the overall dish. The bed of potatoes underneath was well seasoned but lumpy. The vegetables were the most well prepared and cooked.
It’s not a place I’d go out of my way to return to or recommend to others.

Went here for New Year’s and when we made the reservation nobody told us about only having 3 things to choose from for 45$ each. We had researched the menu and were excited about other items.
The wife got a tiny serving of pear soup, 3 mushroom raviolis(wasn’t impressed with it) and a piece of cheesecake. I got a small salad some kind of seafood medley(1 shrimp, 3 mussels and a small piece of fish) that was over cooked and a tiny piece of cake for 45 each$. Not cool. Portions were small and NOT worth the money we paid.
The staff was very nice tho.
Probably won’t go back after seeing the portion sizes compared to cost.

Quite simply the best place in town to get a steak. They serve creative comfort food ranging from all different European cultures and many American favorites. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the owners strive hard to provide the best dining experience dixon has to offer. Gets crowded from time to time but it’s worth waiting 30 minutes for a table at this place.

Food was excellent. Nice menu variety. Prices reasonable. Service was great. A bit hot and out of ice for drinks, but definitely will go again.

Place is small, food and environment simply great. Reservation is highly recommended, parking its trick if you’re not a local. There is no kids menu. Non alcoholic drinks selection very limited.

Always a bit disappointed – they seem to just put the same sides on each plate regardless of the menu description – it may say “roasted potatoes and seasonal veg” but you’ll end up with mash & the same squash as your wife has with no explanation. I’m also dying for them to clean the place and fix the lighting

A Great meal – paella – as usual. But a bit disappointed in the diminished wine list options. Had to compromise on what we really wanted for something that was actually available…
