Delicious Mexican food, the tortillas (soft and hard) are home made and made fresh to order. They make any of the dishes delicious. Everything I have tried so far has been great on the menu and delivery is pretty fast.

Local taco joint run by a very nice family. Went here for lunch for the first time, got the chicken and steak specials. Everything was cooked very well and super flavorful. Only took about 10 min to get my food and be on my way. Prices are super fair and overall a great eat. I would recommend increasing the portion size just a little bit as it wasn’t as much food as other similar restaurants. Still very good and worth eating here.

Love the owners and the college-bound son (with the deep voice ) who takes orders! Good food except the nachos are too salty, quesadillas should be a bit bigger, and the burritos should provide more options to add similar to Chipotle, e.g. lettuce, tomato, corn.

The food here is really good, and the prices are more than reasonable. The place is kind of small, so large groups may want to try an establishment with larger capacity seating.

The past few times the food has been less than what it used to be. Smaller portions, no sour cream and sauce unless you ask. My last visit the steak quesadilla tasted like the cheese was sour.
Don’t see the usual people behind the counter, perhaps ownership has changed? The food is definitely suffering for whatever the reason.

The food was absolutely ice cold, the meat in the soft taco’s tasted off it‘s usual flavor…. And the prices have gone UP!!! 17 and change for 4 soft tacos and a soda……… Do not think I’ll be going back

I catered from this location and had a phenomenal experience. The owner is mindful of cost, party size, and always adds a little extra to the mix. Highly recommend the catering services. Quality of food will not disappoint! They have preset party platters that are very easy to make a decision from! Great team to work with!

Unfortunately my last couple of visits did not meet up to expectations… 99.99% of the time I order the same three items. Soft Tacos, Steak quesadillas, or the Steak nachos…. On each occasion the food was bland and missing the usual good taste. Other occasions the food was cold, missing the sauce and sour cream, and once the cheese in the quesadilla was bad.. You could taste the sourness of the spoiled cheese..
The prices are constantly going up and the quality and quantity are going down.. My first guess is they sold out……. There is another Mexican place in Baldwin that serves the exact poor quality bland food…. Wonder if it’s the same owner?
Needless to say, I will not be going back. Such a shame too, The First Tortilla Grill was really good for a really long time. But complacency and greed for a bigger profit got in the way. And now there just another restaurant I have to cross off my list!

Highly recommended. The food is exactly what it needs to be (Chinese Mexican). They deliver quickly. Sure, the guy who answers the phone sounds like he hates working in his family restaurant, but he always gets my order right. One of my go-to spots.

Really great food. Years ago, I was very skeptical about this place because it’s run by the same people who run the Chinese food place across the street. But, I was wrong. This place is really great. The food is delicious. I love the Shrimp Tostada salad. The Chicken Burrito is really delicious. Very ample portions. I recommend that you call in your order before you pick it up because everything is made to order, so you’ll be waiting a while if you just walk up and order at the counter. Remember to ask them for the condiments that you want because they are not generous with salsa or sour cream. Everything here is very good though. Parking is almost impossible in front of this place. Most cars double park, but you can get a ticket because the police station is a few doors down.

Great for a quick healthy bite or to go. I don’t usually enjoy Mexican food but this place is to my taste. It’s run by the same Asian family who runs the Chinese restaurant across the street, which is probably why I like the recipes.
