Nice little Mexican restaurant. I have only gotten food to go, and I have only gotten nachos and burritos. The nachos are a nice large portion. They are mostly good, except for the “cheap” tasting liquid cheese sauce. The nachos would be SO much better if real cheddar and jack cheeses were used. The burritos are large and tasty; a little heavy on the rice, but still a good eat. Again, a good Mexican food restaurant! Update! El Tep is now under new ownership. I got the nachos to go. They were pretty much the same as they were from the previous owners, except maybe a little less chicken and the cheese sauce definitely improved. The Old cheese sauce had a weird taste that you had to get used to. The new cheese sauce didn’t have that weird taste. Big improvement.

I’ve been to quite a bit of Mexican restaurants in the past that don’t measure up or just lacking in flavor, but this one is different. I would have to say this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to eat at and the first one that serves breakfast which unfortunately doesn’t start till 10:00 a.m. but it was worth the wait. I ordered a marinated pork egg and cheese burrito with Pico and it was delicious. Little on the high side for pricing but I will definitely go back

Is my second time at this restaurant. On my way down to LBI. The food here is excellent and very big portions as you can see. The staff is very friendly. And the prices are very reasonable especially for the portions. It can be a little bit hard to miss it is in the middle of a strip mall named Driftwood plaza. I’ve only been here for dinner but they do serve breakfast and lunch. One day I will have to try that. So if you like Mexican food I was very much suggest stopping here if you’re around LBI. LBI is only a half an hour away from this restaurant. One suggestion. Don’t order the nachos if you only want something small The portion is extremely big. Our friend thought it was a small portion but as you can see it is not. It’s big enough for the table. And they were very good.

Stopped over at the new El Tepeyac location Sunday night. Obviously brought a couple bottles of Prosecco (so me!). We started with the chicken nachos, which were always a favorite for us. My husband had the chalupas and I had the tamales. My husband is Mexican, so their tamales have always been the best. It was always hard to find anything that measured up to my mother-in-law’s cooking until I had the tamales at El Tepeyac. They definitely set the bar pretty high in this area!

This is absolutely the best Mexican restaurant.they have the best authentic Mexican food! Our family takes a trip to the beach house and this is always the place we look forward to. We drive an hour from home to just go. The chilli rellenos are the best I ever had, and they have lengua and they know how to cook it really well! Highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!

Comfortable Mexican restaurant with delicious food served in seriously large portions with a smile make for outstanding value. There are enough items on the menu to ensure that you can come back several times trying something different. Friendly service top to bottom.
One little thing: there is a hatchet throwing space next door which creates moderate noise. I’m told that this problem is on the process of being abated. Will definitely return to find out.

I cant say enough good things about this place. If you want authentic Mexican, killer size portions, and all for a great price hit up El Tepeyac on 72…. and the owners are just awesome people. Always smiling, great food , great service, killer value….. you will not leave here disappointed……
