Always happy to try out these diner style burger joints. Really hope they never go away.
We ordered their classic and Shroom and Swiss burgers, which come with 1/2 lb patties and fries, and their cookies and cream shake. The tomato,
lettuce, and onions are also stacked on the side (some people are picky with their veggies). Not the BEST out there, but the value is definitely there!
The owner seems to be all about the community. All of the interactions I witnessed have been positive with people from ALL walks of life. 5 stars from me. Catch y’all on the flip side.

Revisit. Grilled cheese, old school dipped in the Habanero sauce, and the chicken salad, still a good product and will go again. Everything I had at Flipside has always been delicious. I had the salad this time and it was just perfect, specially with the avocado.
I had the Ahi Burger with Avo and salad and again, it was perfect, this place keeps it coming.

Nice diner-style burger joint in Oakland. I liked the menu variety and the great portion sizes for the price. I’m giving 3 stars because I did not like the burger patty nor the fries. I thought the burger was dry (I ordered medium doneness) and the fries seemed undercooked. Great service but not the quality of food I was looking for.

If you are interested in old school burgers where you can still order medium rare, and the burgers actually come medium rare, this the place. The burgers are huge and of high quality beef. The price includes fries, but I like the fact that with a very small upcharge I was able to sub 1/2 sweet potato fries and half onion rings, also very good and made to order. Finally, their milkshakes are great. I took one star off for atmosphere, but that’s because there was a basekball game going on and was a bit loud; however the other patrons were watching the game so I can’t really fault them. The guy that runs the place is always so friendly and appreciative of my business.

Staff was chill, took them like 5 minutes to come out from the back. Meat was cooked how I asked, but wow it had absolutely NO flavor. I paid $14 for frozen fries and an unseasoned burger, I do not recommend this place at all.

Holy ##!!, what a surprise in the neighborhood! Had the classic with cheese & fries. Absolutely fantastic burger. So good, it’s worth a trip if you’re not a local. Fries are equally yummy, the perfect combo of crispy outers and tasty innards.
Super friendly and attentive staff, if they’re not the owners, they act like it: they seem to really care about giving you a top burger experience.
Highly recommended!

Flipside is a great local burger shop. While their specialty is undoubtedly burgers / fries (curly is my preference), they also have some chicken strip / salad options for vegetarians.
I usually go for the Hangover (fried egg, American cheese, bacon, french fries, and tabasco mayo) with two substitutions: 1) cheddar cheese instead of American and 2) chipotle mayo instead of tabasco. Try it your way or mine, and enjoy!
