I generally get four tacos, and go with Al pastor, carnitas, chori/pollo, and either asada, lengua, cabeza, or birria. All are amazing. I add cilantro and onions and queso fresco and then hit them with both the red and green sauces (the red has some kick and the green is incredible.) I’ve also had delicious quesadillas, but I haven’t ventured out much because the tacos hit so good.
Makes me miss working in Charlottesville but I’ll definitely hit up Tacos Gomez anytime I’m passing through the area, or even make a special trip to Charlottesville to “see friends” (eat tacos.) Don’t pass this place up, it’s truly special.
I can’t remember the names of those because I asked they to pick for me, but I remember there is one with beef tongue which is special and good.
The red sauce is super spicy. The onion and lime are very fresh.
Will be back to try more items on the menu.
I got one taco al pastor, and one with carne asada – both with cheese. They have two types of salsa – red and green. Red is very spicy, and their green salsa, which is more mild, is still quite spicy if you wanted no spice. I enjoyed the tacos – not oily, well cooked, and quick turnaround time. They take card and Apple Pay at the truck as well. I will likely come back, and would recommend it to a friend.
