We arrived about 4 pm on Saturday afternoon with plenty of parking and seating available. We ordered the 6 piece garlic cheese bread for 4 people and that was perfect size appetizer. It was delicious and the spaghetti sauce for dipping was amazing. We also ordered a personal size (8 inch) cheese pizza for the 10 year old. The 3 older people shared a large pizza (14 inch), half sausage and banana pepper and half pepperoni. Pizza had great crust, good toppings, the large was a little over cooked and had a lot of sauce on the outer edges. Fountain pop was great also, Mr. Hibbing ftw! Service was adequate nothing above and beyond.

I never thought I’d be writing a negative review about Carboni’s in Forest Lake.
This place has been a staple for my family since the late 70s or early 80s. I’ve personally been eating this pizza for about 45 years—easily hundreds, if not a thousand orders. The pizza itself has always been great. It’s what I grew up on, and honestly, that hasn’t changed.
The service has always been a bit awkward, especially when dining in, but I never let that bother me. Mistakes happen—wrong toppings, missing items here and there—but when you’ve been ordering from a place for decades, you understand that comes with the volume.
What happened last weekend, though, completely blew my mind.
We ordered pizza for pickup while running errands in town. We arrived about 10 minutes early and decided we’d rather just dine in. We explained multiple times that they wouldn’t need to do anything extra—we’d eat it straight out of the box, order a couple of sodas, and tip accordingly.
They flat-out refused.
No explanation that made sense, no flexibility, just “no.” We were told they couldn’t change the order, even though the pizza was already being made and we were literally standing inside the restaurant ready to spend more money.
So instead of letting paying customers sit down and eat, they chose to lose the sale entirely. We walked out, and they’d rather eat the cost of two pizzas than allow us to dine in.
After 45 years of loyalty, that kind of rigid, customer-unfriendly decision is incredibly disappointing. I still love the pizza—but this experience seriously changed how I feel about supporting this location

I have been going Here for many year as well as my whole family . Has always been great up until this year 3 times now I have ordered pizza and had the burnt and black ! Going to have to give up on this location ! Staff did not say sorry just ya that happens they are cooked on a stone ! I mean 40 dollars for 2 pizza and and hour wait dominos has better quality! Very disappointed!

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. We had a reservation last night for a large party. When we arrived at 6:30 pm, it was completely closed. The lights were off, doors locked, no sign, and no employees. No one called to inform us that they would not be open so we could make other plans. It was very disappointing and frustrating, not to mention incredibly inconsiderate. I absolutely will not come back for another visit after this experience.

Carbonne’s of Forest Lake has been in the town for ages and it’s always as expected. I’ve been eating pizza at this place since the late 1970s and I’ve visited hundreds of times.
The interior and pizza recipe has not changed over the ages. They serve reliable Thin crust pizza with plenty of cheese and ample toppings. Their service has never failed to be friendly to me.
The truest sense of their ability? Pizza Hut is less than a quarter mile away and has been there since the 1980s. Yet Carbonne’s remains. That’s some staying power – for good reason.

Good service, great pizza!

The pizza was great as well. Plenty of toppings and loaded to the edge.
Server was great, checked on us often, and she kept our drinks full.

I spent more than $71 for garbage. Extremely disappointed. Opened my pizza fries and they looked like some black nasty looking burnt oil had dripped onto them and they just boxed it up and sent it home with me, see the attached pictures. The pizza was paper thin with almost no cheese on it. Carbone’s should refund my money! Unbelievable!

We came in for an early dinner after exploring some new areas. The front was busy with carry-out and we were alone for most of our dinner. The interior is dated but it gives a bit of a nostalgic pizza place feel with the lights over each table. We started with the garlic bread and I had the Italian Burrito and my girlfriend had the personal pizza. What they lacked in presentation these two main dishes made up in flavor. Our server checked back often enough and my pop was never empty for long. Also has three pool tables, charges start for the hour.

Food was delicious!! Yummy garlic cheese bread, dinner salad add for only 99 cents and creamy Italian dressing was good, and spaghetti was great!! Very nicely priced! Service was great and friendly! 3 pool tables were cool and fun, nice to have something different.
