Grove Street Pub & Grill, located on Howertown Road in Catasauqua, is a laid-back sports bar serving classic American comfort food favorites that draw in plenty of locals. It’s open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 10:30 PM, Thursday until 11:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday until 12:00 AM.
This is one of those places I wouldn’t go out of my way for, simply because the food itself is nothing special.
My friends and I stopped in on Friday night and ordered bourbon bbq wings, cheesesteak egg rolls, French onion soup, a buffalo chicken calzone, and the Grove Burger with fries.
The wings came out overcooked, the French onion soup wasn’t broiled long enough to develop any color, the calzone lacked any real crisp, and the Cajun seasoning on the Grove Burger was dominated by black pepper, which overwhelmed everything else.
If you live nearby and want to walk over for a drink, catch the game, or shoot some pool, I can see the appeal. Beyond that, it’s not worth the trip.

Grove Street is a huge upgrade from the old Blue Monkey ✨. We went on a Saturday afternoon ☀️ and it wasn’t busy at all, which was nice.
Our waitress, Caroline , was super kind and kept checking in on us — great service on her part! However, it took quite a while for our food to come out ⏳ . Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy, we waited about 15–20 minutes, which really brought down the overall experience.
When the food finally arrived, it was piping hot and delicious — no complaints there! But waiting that long for an adult grilled cheese and chicken tenders with fries when it’s not busy just isn’t ideal. Hoping for quicker service next time!

We decided to try the lasagna special that was advertised. The pictures say enough, we got lasagna that was runny and undercooked. After 10 minutes in our oven it still was watery and just a mess. To make things worse the garlic bread that was included was laying in the liquid and was soggy. Very dissatisfied!

Went to get a drink and a bite to eat last night. We sat outside because they had cute Halloween decor up, and it was a warm October evening. That was quickly ruined as soon as multiple patrons on the patio started smoking cigarettes. I’m pretty sure we saw a worker smoking too. Really unfortunate because they were very close to young children and guests, trying to enjoy a dining experience without cancer smoke going down our throats. The waitresses didn’t say anything so I assume you must be allowed to smoke out there so anyone who’s wanting some nice outside seating for the fall as it gets a little chilly do not come here unless you like cigarette smoke.
The service was subpar to be honest with you and the only reason I’m commenting on that is because I used to be a waitress and I was a damn good one and I didn’t even get asked if I wanted another drink from the bar the entire time I sat there with an empty cup.
The best part of this place is probably the food. You can get 10 wings for like 12 bucks which is an awesome deal these days and the boom boom flavor was so good. I really wanted to order the Greek salad, but they charge the same price as every other salad and the Greek salad comes with no protein no chicken nothing but it was still the same price as every other salad that had multiple sources of protein so I ended up not getting that because it didn’t seem fair. I asked the waitress and she said and I quote I just work here.
Two stars is generous for the experience I had but I’m leaving it because the food did really taste good so maybe if you want something from here just get takeout.

Went here for a work meeting, and the food was DELICIOUS! The fries were the best I have ever had (and I’m not a french fry person), sandwich was incredible, the menu has a lot to offer, and the atmosphere is cozy. Reasonably priced for the amount you get. Can’t wait to go here again.

Well food is good especially at the price but thats where the good stops. At end of the day as a restaurant the food is the priority but had too many poor experiences from service there. Few times of just really unfriendly staff to begin with and this last time there our waitress took a total of 7 trips to different tavles including 3 to a table seated after us and never even came up to us or let us know she’d be with us in a minute or anything after about 15 minutes waiting we just left. If youre OK with this then enjoy the food, but I just got tired of crap staff.

We absolutely love coming here, and today as most days reminded us why! Even right at the end of closing, Vinny, Kate, and Jess went above and beyond to take care of us and always do. The food was fresh and delicious! Vinny never disappoints. Kate always makes us feels welcome and is always attentive friendly and on point! Jess is always so upbeat makes us feel comfortable and has the best energy!
You can tell they all really care about what they do, and it shows in the way they treat people. It’s rare to find a team that makes you feel like family every single time. Huge thanks to Grove Street they truly make the place special!

1st time here just moved to catty recently. I ordered potato skins for appetizer. These are pretty big and filling skins. I also had the blues brews, and BBQ burger with Cajun fries and my wife had the rough rider wrap with sweet potato fries. Everything was hot and delicious! We left pretty stuffed. I could hardly finish the burger it was so big! We also had shots and drinks.
