Dunellen Hotel recently catered my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah, which was held at Supreme Eventz just down the street, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. From start to finish, the service was exceptional.
Rich was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, offering great advice and helping us craft a menu that worked perfectly for our event. On the day of the party, the catering staff (Abe, Zack, Sammie & Debbie- Sorry if I forgot anyone) went above and beyond — everything looked fantastic, and they were upbeat, professional, and friendly from start to finish.
The food was a huge hit! Multiple guests commented on how delicious everything was. The salmon and penne vodka were definite crowd favorites, and the chicken satay and coconut shrimp appetizers were a big hit as well. The kids especially loved the mocktail offerings, which added a fun and festive touch.
Everything ran smoothly, the food stations were kept neat and well-stocked, and all the dishes were served hot and fresh. It truly made our event special.

Always the first restaurant I go to when I come into town from out of state! The Dunellen Hotel never disappoints. Food is always AMAZING along with the service and atmosphere. Have been here multiple times over many years and always a great experience.

Great home town service, good character in a beautiful old building. A lot of selections to please a crowd. Soup amd salads all great. Chicken cordon blue over the meatloaf, chicken parm was good chicken with bland sauce. We would come back again. Burgers looked great, next time!

A spur of the moment stop. Always drove by and was wondering how good of a hotel and/or restaurant. The history goes back to 1925. They have a bar downstairs while a more formal restaurant upstairs. The menu is the same for either one. This establishment showed its age. Today, was at the lower bar. We had an Old Fashioned and a beer. We started with the Calamari which was floured and Old Bay seasoning. It was okay but, the spicy marinara made up for it. The port cheddar cheeseburger was overcooked. I had the prime rib sandwich which was very tasty. They do have specials and a private parking lot.

We had a surprise 30th birthday party at Dunellen Hotel last night, and it couldn’t have gone better! The staff were super helpful and easy to work with, the service was great, and the food was really good. Everyone had a great time. I’d definitely recommend for your next party!

I’ve always driven past this place had never really been in there and last night for Valentine’s day we went out with the family we were upstairs where the bar was very old looking like they forgot about the place the server wasn’t the best she didn’t really come back to our table to check on us to see if weI had ordered the root beer and it tastes like water and we had ordered melt crab pretzel the crab meat was imitation and we also ordered the nacho platter we had a little baby with us that was 7 months and the server since the hot plates by the baby in the reach not very smart. It’s a bit pricey and just let me tell you the nachos were not worth it very dissatisfied also ordered a brownie with ice cream and by the time I got it it was all melted it wasn’t worth it..

We had a birthday celebration for my husband and it was an amazing experience. Our waitresses were fabulous-attentive and considerate. The food was delicious. Rich was extremely helpful with our date/time/room selection. Everything was better than we could have anticipated. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you Dunellen for a great event!

I took the family out to eat on a random Wednesday night and surprisingly the restaurant was quite busy! Downstairs it was full but it still only took 5 min to get a table for 6. Once ordered, the food came out extremely fast and was delicious. Great experience all around, and great atmosphere. Thanks.

Had dinner here last week and everything was great. Came back today, eating the food that was put on the table and when my mother-in-law moved her bowl, there was a inch worm just squirming around like it belonged there. Manager could care less, she first says she didn’t see it, then she turns around and says she saw it already. Why two stories, no explanation given. Will not be returning to this place.
