My bf and I went here for a date night and we were both so blown away at how amazing everything was. Fish was extremely fresh and just melted in your mouth. Flavor was exceptional and everything came out so quickly even though the place was packed. We will definitely be back.

I strongly recommend not coming here on weekends.
My girlfriend and I waited about 20 minutes before being seated, and we ordered around six items. The problem? Only two of them arrived.
After waiting another 15 minutes, we had to remind the staff just to get our sake. Then, three more items never came. Twenty minutes later, we received our miso soup, but two items never arrived at all, even by the time we got the bill.
If it’s busy—do not come. The service is a disaster.
The blonde servers in the dining area don’t even know the names of the items on the menu. When I asked the older lady in the dining area when our food would come, she just laughed like, “Oops, I forgot, I’m busy—what do you want me to do?” and walked off.
We later found out the item quantities were wrong on the receipt, and it was hard to even find someone to help.
Today was my birthday. I came here hoping to have a good day—but I left completely disappointed. If you want save or celebration day, DO NOT COME HERE

The sushi here is the BEST in town. It is a small bistro and very good for a date night. The food can be slow to come out, but so worth the wait. This place allows you time to visit with friends and slow down. The omakase is unbelievably amazing (the nigiri pictured are the omakase tasting) Each bite is better than the next. If you want to omakase experience, you need a reservation. Otherwise, the rolls and basic nigiri are phenomenal.

Next level good coming from big sushi lovers! The tokyo styled nigiri was insane. Best in Boulder, and we’ve lived here 42 years! Great sharing service where they all help, not just one server! Will be our new spot!

We were craving some good Japanese food and our favorite place in Boulder was packed, so we dropped in here about 8:45 to a fairly empty restaurant. However, we were greeted warmly and immediately and were given a table within 30 seconds on a Friday night. We ordered sake, beer, and a few apps. The agedashi tofu was above average, though the broth was unusually thick. The fried squid legs were very good, as well. The shrimp shumai was pretty good, but we didn’t think it was worth the price. For mains, we ordered a couple of fatty bluefin rolls and the sashimi moriawase. The rolls were quite good (especially the hand roll), and while the sashimi was above average, it wasn’t worth the steep price for so little fish and the mediocre presentation. We will go back here, though, because we found it to be the second best Japanese restaurant in Boulder and it wasn’t crowded.

Great little sushi place. Nothing fancy when it comes to the restaurant but the food is great especially for the price. Our waitress was super friendly and even gave us some travel advice since I mentioned we were planning a trip to Japan. We’ve been two weekends in a row after discovering this place and it was consistently good. Would definitely recommend as a local low-key sushi place with great food!

How about cleaning the entrance once in a while? And, those cold washcloths you brought to the table? They smelled. Bad. Unclean.
Not impressed and I would have left but a friend really wanted to eat there. I kept an open mind but IMO, how you care for your space is apparently evidenced in the food prep as well. Agedashi tofu in a goopy liquid? Pickled veggies that were soggy and undecipherable from each other. The baked salmon roll was fine as was the veggie roll. But not enough to convince me to come back. There are far better choices in town.

The best sushi in Boulder. I guarantee. The green mochi with strawberry in the center was one of the best desserts i think I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The service was super nice, and the atmosphere was top , highly recommend going out to dinner here.

They deserve all the attention! On a fall night their service and the miso soup warmed my heart and my soul!!!

Thanks for the amazing food sushi chefs, I never thought I would be so stunned by fish this far from an ocean!

Been in Boulder 15 years. Absolutely the best sushi in town. Other places have more hype, let’s keep it that way so we can eat here. The best!

Best sushi place in Boulder, and rivals the upscale sushi restaurants in Denver! With a more casual atmosphere, and high quality food and service. The sushi chefs and servers are friendly and welcoming, and make sushi fast. Some of our favorites are off the chef recommendation menu. A must try is the aged Toro! Thank you to the dedicated staff / restaurant owners that keep this place running and keep serving delicious food.
