This Peruvian Restaurant in Lafayette offers a great dining experience overall. The food was good and well prepared, and the service was excellent, very attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The drinks were definitely the highlight, easily the best part of the experience. Unfortunately, the dessert was a bit disappointing compared to the rest of the meal. The prices are quite high, which takes away a little from the overall value. Still, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking for good food, great service, and amazing drinks.

Dinner with ex-officemates turned friends! Unfortunately, I was right to be skeptical about good Peruvian food in Lafayette

While the interiors were gorgeous and the food was of course nicely presented, I wish more attention was given to the actual taste of the food. We ordered:
• Trio of empanadas – good but not better than our local empanada shop especially for how much they charged for it
• Calamares chicharrones – so this was just plain fried calamares, definitely not crispy enough to be called a chicharrones
• Cebiche tasting – 3 kinds, good
• Lomo saltado – omigosh, this was not bad but let’s just say I made better lomo saltado using store-bought sauce. The portion size was also what 5 pieces and they tried to make it seem like the whole dish was a lot by putting a ton of fries
• Seco de Res – I don’t remember anything particularly good or bad about this dish so it must have been ok
• Dessert – we ordered two kinds, forgot their names but they were good
• Pisco Sour – best Pisco Sour I’ve had so definitely please keep your bartender

Overall, go here if you’re ok with some semblance of Peruvian tasting food and paying higher than average prices for it.

The server, Manuel, was excellent and made delicious recommendations as it was our first visit. All the food was outstanding and especially the beef empanadas and the Langostinos small plate. We ordered small plates and cocktails and really enjoyed it all. It was pricey though as 4 appetizers and 4 cocktails for 2 people was over $100 per person. Watch out for the water, we ordered ice water, but received a bottle of sparkling water which cost us $10.

We really enjoyed the food here, lots of flavor, meat was tender and the sauce were delicious. We sat outdoors which was comfortable, our server was very attentive and checked in on us periodically which we appreciated.

Every year, my sister and I celebrated our birthday at Barrancos with our family. It is our favorite restaurant because the food is always fresh and full of flavor. We especially love the paella and the beet salad. The food and dessert is definitely worth the price. The service is excellent and the restaurant is never too noisy.

What a delicious surprise! I was traveling from Oakland to Walnut Creek and decided to stop somewhere different for a meal. The service was quick and efficient. The ginger lemonade was refreshing. The food will prepared and excellently presented. And it tasted great. We sampled the Roasted beet salad, Palta Rellena, Empanadas platter, salmon and the Chicharrones de la Casa. Worth the stop if you are in the area.

My first time in California and I had a good experience 2 weeks ago in the restaurant Barranco. It was really good like in Perú. The food is too expensive but delicious. Worth every dollar Paella, lomo and empanadas the best. I have to write this because the restaurant worth it. The service is so bad. It’s the worst I’ve ever had. The servers is really careless. One of then I think is in training because she didn’t wear uniform and wore a gym hoodie, I was surprise about that because the kind of the restaurant (expensive) she took the order and never came back to ask if I need anything else, desserts or drinks. Later I tried to talk with the order server but it was worse she dindn’t know about the menu or allergies she didn’t help us. All servers were sit at the bar. The mister that recieved in the front door was very friendly and he brought us the table. They have to work better costumer serveces or change for servers with more experience. At this point the restaurant wasn’t fully saturday night and I felt that is the reason for why is empty.

Not authentic Peruvian restaurant. The use of feta cheese on recipes is sacrilege! No ají de gallina or Huancaína sauce will ever be good replacing Queso Fresco for feta, it changes everything. The ceviche was good.

What an unexpected surprise, the place was lovely and service excellent. The food was amazing, portions, flavors, and variety all were enjoyable. I had the short rib and octopus along with a couple beers and sangria. It was plenty of food for my wife and I, definitely find time to get back there and try other menu items.

Great food and friendly service, surpassed my expectations! Went on a Sunday evening and was surprisingly busy, think they may have been understaffed as our waiter was clearly busy at work! Regardless, lead times on food orders took a while (30ish minutes) but our server made it up to us with a round of drinks on-the-house.

Dishes were savory, with lots of value. I’d say it’s “Peruvian” with an American spin.

It’s nice to see a place that puts the customer experience at the forefront! Will definitely be returning!!!
