I’ve been here a few times now as I’m passing through the area. I like the atmosphere and the food is good at a fair price. Some of the prices are on the higher side, but that’s most places now.
I met the owner the first time I was there and he’s a nice guy. The breakfast buffet has a large selection. I prefer to order and I’ve enjoyed the food.
I’ve had really good friendly service during a visit and I’ve had slower, not as good of service on a visit. So it really depends on the server and possibly the day. We all have off days and it’s hard to find good help in the restaurant field.
All and all good experiences and we’ll be back when we’re in the area.

what a fun find. The food was great. The service was better and stuck in the middle of nowhere in Verndale Minnesota. There’s even room for about four semi trucks if you park right. It’s definitely on my list of here’s where you’re stopping.

We brought my bachelorette party to the Pirate’s Den, and honestly, they deserve a medal for dealing with us. We planned the stop on our way to R&J Arena’s Bulls, Broncs, and Barrels event, and they even saved us a table… which we promptly messed up by running late. Completely our fault — I grew up working in my parents’ restaurant, so I completely understand the chaos of a busy night.
Despite us showing up late and it being a rodeo weekend, the staff pulled off some kind of seating magic. One group scooted out, another shuffled around like a real‑life game of human Tetris, and suddenly two tables appeared just for us.
The food and service were wonderful. The manager even did a shot with us, and I ended up with a drink on the house. At that point I thought, Yep, this is why small‑town restaurants are awesome — the place, the people, and the service were all amazing.
Pirate’s Den helped make my bachelorette night unforgettable — great food, great folks, and an A+ tolerance for a late, excited group. Highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff!

Got 2 different burgers, one was Cheddar One was the one with pirate on it with BBQ sauce, fried onions and bacon.
Waffles fries and great they served with a sour cream mixture for dip, as well as the sweet potato fries they had a wonderful brown sugar cinnamon reminded me of texas road house butter!
Loved it. Will definitely come back!

Pretty disappointing to say the least. We had reservations, didn’t get food til 1 1/2 hrs later. Prime Ribs in the group we’re not cut/cooked up to par. Had a burger that was overcooked & burnt. When food was being brought out had steak/prime rib juice spelt not once but twice all over side of hat/clothes in the group. The steaks were cooked accordingly & good. The salad bar had a lot of options & was good. The waitress was great & felt bad for the situation, she did provide us a gift card which wasn’t much but was a nice gesture. For the amount of money we spent on subpar food, it will be awhile before we return.

We made a trip to Wadena and fell upon this place by accident. We were pleasantly surprised at this roadside gem! Portions were plenty, price was right, and food was great! Servers were friendly and accommodating. The gas station connected to the restaurant had good prices, including the gas. Very clean restrooms

We went out for their 3 meat buffet. It was good. Salad bar was good, lots to choose from. The only complaint I had was all the little bones in the ribs.

The food here is amazing and affordable. Staff here was very nice and friendly. Fun atmosphere. This is my 2nd time eating here and both times have been excellent. We’ll worth the stop. Highly recommend.

The first vist, was great. We waited for a bit, but the food and server were fabulous.
The second visit, my husband’s food arrived very quickly and we were asked if there was any thing else we needed. I asked for my dinner, the server looked like a deer in headlights. They totally forgot about my dinner, it came about 20 minutes later.
My 3rd visit was today, just dropping in for some take out. I was budgeting so I checked the website first. Everything was nearly twice the price as what is advertised on the website. So, I ended up ordering some, and making the rest at home.
Please update your site with he correct dishes and pricing. Please ensure all orders are entered in correctly.
All servers courteous and accommodating, very happy with the staff

Argh ye maties! If ye be wantin a hardy meal then this place is where the X be markin. The mates on board were very friendly. Grub was good enough that I made me own cook walk the plank. And prices didn’t make it feel like piracy on the high seas. I suggest ye be making a trip and see with yer own eyes.
