Their food is awful. Ordered the two steak tacos meal what I got was two tiny street tacos and the steak had zero flavor couldn’t eat it tasted bad. I had a party of 6 nobody liked their meals all where tiny with no flavor. 2 meals where so bad I sent them back. The staff was nice the manager didn’t charge me for the two I sent back. It’s over priced for what you get even by Tahoe standards.

Great service and amazing food! Live music on certain nights, some tourists as well as locals. Broad flavor of people. We had a waitress by the name of kristina, she was very attentive to us and we will be back soon!

The first thing I have to say, the reason this restaurant got 5 stars was thanks to Christopher from Illinois. Chris met all my mother’s needs as she is very picky, Chris knew the menu very well and went through great efforts to prepare something not spicy for my mother, as she can’t have them, and even got her a little bit of milk. Food was adequate for the price and was not let down by the service. It may be good to go to this restaurant during non busy periods as there were only two members of staff on the floor.

I’ve been in here a few times recently, on two separate trips to South Lake. One was with a group of my girls, and we stayed in a private cabin for the weekend not far from town so it was easy to pop in here and grab a drink between casinos. We had a wonderful time going out dancing late at night and this Cantina was packed! The line to get in went fast though and we had a great time just enjoying our group of friends being out together. Drinks were cheap and served fast, given the crowds both on the dance floor and at the bar. This is always a fun stop on a weekend night, especially if they have live music.

Fast forward a few weeks when I came back to South Lake with my boyfriend, Fred. Justin was bartending and even though it was a Friday night, it was about 8:45 p.m. and practically dead. We would’ve loved some dancing here, but at that moment, it was kind of perfect to just sit down and chat with the friendly bartender over our beers. Great service and great drinks all the same!

5/8/12 – five stars

I’m going to give this place a five because it was really exactly what I needed this weekend, but I want to give a four for the noise level. Though, I’m sure that’s what attracts some of the crowd. But it’s just a little too noisy for me. And that was at 6:30 pm (Cinco de Mayo 2012). I really just wanted some good chips and salsa and ‘Fire & Ice’ up the street had almost ruined my Cinco with their prepackaged cr*p in a basket. So I was really on the hunt for some good, fresh stuff!

We stopped at Cabo Wabo (located inside Harvey’s but if I remember, sort of in the tunnel near where it connects to Harrah’s), and we waited for what seemed like a LONG time for a table in the bar area to open. Must’ve been less than 20 minutes because that’s what a table wait was and we had our name down for whatever opened first. We found a bar table next to a bachelorette party, which is when I made the decision that I want my bachelorette to be around this party of Tahoe! Saw a bunch of parties and they looked soooo fun! So that’s exactly what I want!

A friendly server (Agnieszka) came over quick and checked back on us several times. 100% 5 star service. She was awesome. Seriously! Pure AWESOME!! We had seen amazing-looking nachos but stuck to the chips and salsa ($5). I CANNOT believe this was ONLY $5. There were a TON of warmed chips: fresh, with red and green and yellow corn colors!! She brought out two bowls of the same salsa. I asked for a hotter one, which she also brought but I think the “mild” salsas were hotter! So did my fiance. We told her this and she said they made it fresh from scratch so it’s different every time. I LOVE THAT. She checked back up on us a lot, but not too much. That can get annoying but it was always perfect timing with her. And she was busy!! And smiling!!

We had two salted house margaritas on the rocks ($8 ea) and we had expected to pay about that and they didn’t disappoint. They weren’t particuarly strong but they were really good. (Our total spent was $21.36)

Oh, and the owner (Sammy Hagar) was walking around the place and stopped and said hi to us!!! Oh em gee. A nice celebrity. I approve. I will most certainly make a point to dine here next time we’re in South Lake. Honestly though, I dno’t see myself ever even trying something other than the chips and salsa!!!

The food was decent and for a fair price. The service was slow despite not being very busy. The waitress was accommodating in allowing split checks. Good environment for groups, but gratuity included for a party of 6.

We have been to the Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas, and Las Vegas. We were travelling on vacation and went out of our way to visit this one. Boy were we disappointed!

I give the fajitas and carne asada burrito 4 stars. The food was good.

What was disappointing is that the place looked like a food court. It was during the week so only half the restaurant was open and there were only two people there. There was hardly any decor on the walls and it was really bare. The waiters and waitress were standing around.

The restaurants in Cabo and Vegas are excellent. Very lively ambiance, music and people. Lots of rock n roll decor and great food and drinks.

The Cabo in Tahoe was a real dud. It looks like the place is going out of business.

We wanted to purchase a t-shirt and waited for a young waitress to come open the case where the t-shirts on display looked as if they had been rummaged through. She was not friendly at all and in fact seemed to really not care at all when they did not have my husband’s size in three of the shirts he wanted. Later on the manager (who was friendly) apologized for not having a variety of t-shirt sizes.

Sammy Hagar must not know the full extent of how this place is run. They must spruce everything up when they know he is coming.

We will never return.

Was not impressed at all. The chips were all tiny broken up pieces I had to ask for more. There was 1 waitress helping all the tables while another helped a huge party. The food was mediocre at best. Would not recommend or come back.
