This place beat my expectations. Hostess were friendly and we got seated right away. Our waiter explained to us how the unlimited buffet worked. He was extremely attentive and checked on us. Every dish we had was well seasoned, cooked to perfection and I can’t wait to come back again! It has all the options you can think of, sides, sushi, stir fry; amazing!

TLDR: Hungry Bowl is Bowie’s go to spot for all you can eat sushi, Korean BBQ, and Mongolian stir fry under one roof. Expect a wait, but the system is efficient and the food is worth it.

If you want to see where Bowie comes alive on a weekend, head to Hungry Bowl around lunchtime. We showed up at noon on a Saturday and the place was absolutely packed. Full capacity, buzzing energy, and a quoted 30 minute wait. Thankfully, their system is dialed in. They take your name and number and send you a virtual waitlist link that shows your place in line and estimated time. Our wait ended up being closer to 20 minutes, which felt very reasonable given how busy it was.

Once seated, our waiter immediately came over and explained how everything works. Each table gets a tablet to order sushi, Korean BBQ, soups, salads, and apps. You also get a physical table card for the Mongolian grill station. That is where you walk up to a buffet line, load a bowl with raw ingredients, hand it off, and they stir fry it fresh and bring it straight to your table.

The tablet menu is extensive. Specialty sushi rolls, bulgogi, Korean short ribs, fried apps, you name it. The Mongolian line is just as impressive with everything from fresh veggies to marinated steak, scallops, and shrimp. The sauce selection alone means no two bowls have to taste the same.

We ordered about half a dozen sushi rolls, Korean short rib, bulgogi, and a few fried appetizers before heading to build our Mongolian bowls. By the time we finished at the grill station, our tablet order was already waiting at the table. Wicked fast service, especially for how slammed they were.

The fried apps like calamari, shrimp, and katsu were solid but not something I would double up on. The real surprise was the sushi. Generous cuts of fish and some genuinely creative rolls. The surf and turf roll with torched steak over a spicy lobster roll was a standout and something you do not see everywhere.

The Korean BBQ was also excellent. The bulgogi in particular was well marinated and delivered tender, savory bites with great umami flavor.

When our Mongolian bowls arrived, they were piping hot and perfectly cooked. After finishing an 11 mile run at the gym earlier, this absolutely hit the spot.

Overall, Hungry Bowl delivers variety, speed, and quality in a fun, high energy setting. It is a great choice for groups who cannot decide on one cuisine and an even better choice if you are looking to refuel after a serious workout. Definitely one of the hottest spots in Bowie.

I used to drive 45 minutes away to go to a Mongolian grill on Wisconsin Ave in Bethesda. It’s been closed since 2012, so how excited was I to hear a Mongolian grill opened pretty much in my backyard. I’ve wanted to go for lunch, but my schedule never allowed so I went for a late lunch early dinner. It’s a little small for a Mongolian grill. They have a nice size bar area, but no current liquor license, so I’ll have to come back once it’s in place. I was greeted and seated right away. My server Heaven was fabulous. She was energetic and attentive. She explained the ordering process and what was included in the all you can eat. Unlike other Mongolian grills, they offer Korean bbq, sushi rolls, sushi and sashimi. I started with the seaweed salad, the spicy tuna roll and yellowtail sushi. The seaweed salad was a tad overdressed, but had great flavor. The spicy tuna wasn’t spicy, had a fishy scent and didn’t taste fresh. The yellowtail was ok. Next I went to make my bowl. This is where size matters. The veggie section wasn’t quite varied as you’d expect from a Mongolian grill. They had a decent selection, but not a lot of green or red colored veggies, i.e.snow peas, edamame, green beans, red peppers or red cabbage. They did have plenty of meat options, however, as a pescetarian i was more concerned about the veggies and seafood options. The seafood consisted of “white” fish no other identifier, imitation crab, mussels, shrimp, squid, bay scallops and salmon. The seasonings were also a little limited and were the actual shakers. There were a lot of sauce options though the yum yum sauce seemed to be the most popular. My bowl contained broccoli, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, zucchini, green peppers, baby corn, jalapeños, shrimp, squid, baby scallops, Cajun seasoning and Thai chili sauce. My bowl was delicious minus the undercooked scallops. I also tried the veggie gyoza and edamame. The edamame was good, the gyoza not so much.

Again, I’ll wait for liquor license to come through before I return and hopefully they would have improved/ increased their selection.

OK, I’m going to start off by saying I am not a buffet girly. There isn’t one buffet I’ve been to that I actually liked. But last week we went to Smoky Balls, and my daughter saw Hungry Bowl and wanted to try it, so we gave it a shot.

I will say the wait was extremely long about 45 minutes but the staff was very friendly, and once we were seated, the food came out pretty promptly. The sushi was OK but I usually eat sushi from Gracie’s, so when you compare the two, Hungry Bowl definitely felt more on the low-budget side. One thing I did think was cool is that they didn’t charge extra for drinks everything was included.

Everyone except me got a bowl, and they said it was decent, but I didn’t try it myself. Overall, I wasn’t impressed. I probably wouldn’t go back because it honestly reminded me of the all-you-can-eat buffet in Oxon Hill if you’ve ever been there, you know the concept. I will say, though, the ambiance was way better than the place in Oxon Hill.

I visited a newly opened Mongolian BBQ restaurant in Bowie!!! I was impressed with the level of service, food, and ambiance! We visited during peak hours, but fortunately, our wait was only 25 minutes, which was worth it! For all-you-can-eat, you can choose from all three (Mongolian BBQ, Sushi, and Korean BBQ). Our server, Jose, was excellent and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious. Give it a try!!!

This All You Can Eat Mongolian grill with a flare is absolutely amazing and just what is needed in Bowie!! The staff is phenomenal, and please ask for Liyah, as she is such an incredible and top-notch server, has the utmost professionalism, and does it all with an amazing personality. She explained everything throughly, was attentive throughout the entire time we were here, even during a busy night, and never wavered.
Onto the food— the amount of food you get for the price is unheard of. Most Mongolian grills have just the grill portion, but Hungry Bowl has appetizers, soup, sushi, and dessert as well!! The food is extremely fresh, and prepared to perfection. The crab soup was delicious, like a bisque, and the best consistency, with just the right flavor. The specialty sushi rolls were huge, and especially well-made. The plate display was as though you are at a fine-dining sushi restaurant. The bowls were delicious and the options for proteins and vegetables are endless.
Give this place a try! We don’t have any All You Can Eat places in the area and the quality of food for the price is not something that is easily found. Keep this place around and definitely don’t forget to ask for Liyah- you’ll be thankful you did!! Thanks so much, Liyah, and James, the manager (also awesome)…we will be back!!!

Hungry Bowl is an all-you-can-eat buffet with a twist, offering three choices:
Mongolian stir-fry, sushi, and Korean barbecue. We tried the Mongolian stir-fry, where you fill a bowl with your selection of vegetables, meats, seafood, and sauce.
The chef then cooks it for you. You can return as many times as you like, though one or two bowls were plenty for us.
Prices are very reasonable, service is warm and pleasant, and our waitress explained everything patiently. It feels like getting a delicious gourmet meal for fast-food prices.

I will start out by saying I drove an hour and a half to get here to find out there was an hour wait. We waited and was seated in 40-45 minutes. AND IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!! The food was fresh, our server (her name started with a M) was cool and attentive even though it was a full house. I’ll definitely be back but this is what a dining experience should be when you spend your hard earned money. Well done Hungry Bowl I will most definitely be back!

Waited to 2 hours and it was worth it. Served by Vashti and she was 10/10 a great waiter. Very polite and attentive to explain the process. The food came out promptly and tasted delicious. I normally go to VA Beach for mongolian BBQ but this location is top tier. Food can be taken to go as well. Sushi, soup, chicken, shirt ribs, & other appetizers are also all you can eat.
