Stopped in with my wife for the first time Saturday 1/10/26 because we were driving through. Jackson, the bartender/server, was AWESOME. Friendly, attentive, and really talked up the menu. Just a REALLY good dude.

We ordered the Full Boat platter and shared it. Got the cole slaw and Mac as sides and the elote dip as an appetizer.

It was ridiculous. My wife, who loves jalapeno sausage, said it was one of the best she’d ever had. Personally, my favorites with the burnt ends and elote dip.

If you’re in the area, hit this place up. It’s inside the Cross Eyed Cricket!

Really good BBQ takes quality meat, good smoke technique and skill. But most of all it takes love. There is SO much work that goes into crafting exceptional BBQ that you have to love what you’re doing, otherwise you’d never put in all the time it takes.

Central Oregon has had decent BBQ spots but the fellas at Hattie’s have raised the bar. This is the best BBQ in Bend full stop. Not sure how many others would put in the time and effort these guys do to make sure everything is done right.

Hattie’s is going to put Bend on the map as a BBQ destination. Won’t be long before lines start forming hours before they open.

IMO, a barometer of good BBQ is how good the brisket flat is (the lean end). That’s the easiest part of the brisket to dry out. If you don’t know what you’re doing it’ll be tough and leathery. During today’s visit a buddy and I crushed a full BBQ smorgasbord and brisket flat was on the menu. They nailed it. It was as moist as I had hoped for because apparently I came in longing for moistness.

The presentation was legit. The different proteins were all legit. Wasn’t expecting the cheddar filled sausages to steal the show but they were mighty tasty made with trimmings from the brisket and pork.

If I had to challenge Hattie’s on anything it would be the sides. There’s an opportunity to vastly improve the potato salad and the beans. But that’s it.

The beer selection was good. Overall it was as good as I hoped for. Can’t wait until they start doing brisket b’fast tacos and add in beef short ribs.

This is the best bbq in bend, the vinegar sauce was amazing along with all the meats being moist and flavorful especially the pork and that’s coming from someone that never gets pork just brisket and ribs. We got the $45 meal and ordered 2 extra sides along with the two it came with to go and didn’t get one of the sides which sucks because it was the beans and that’s my husbands favorite bbq side but we still would go back again, it would be a 5 star review if that wouldn’t of happened because I’m sure they are great along with everything else! The brisket chili, Mac n cheese and elote dip are all great sides just depends what you’re feeling that day.

Hattie’s knows how to do Central Texas BBQ just right. The brisket was perfect, a smoke ring that matched the flavors. No sauce required! The mixed plate allows you try all the meats, ribs, pulled pork, sausage and pork burnt ends that are the absolute best I have ever tasted. Everything was fresh and made with intention. All the fixins, coleslaw and corn dip, it was all flavorsome. Service was great, and the bartender was handling the entire house. We didn’t get photos, but will be back there again soon.

We popped in for a late lunch. Our server/bartender was Jackson. He was so kind and helpful and the service was amazing! Between 2 couples we had brisket, sausage, pit beans, smoked Mac and cheese, chili, elote dip and banana cream pudding. Food was excellent, brisket was pull-apart tender and the sausage was flavorful. Every side was wonderful and dessert was delish! Drinks were great and priced well. We definitely recommend Hattie’s!

I was born and raised with my first 30+ years of life in central Texas. I grew up around real BBQ, and this is it. We’ve lived in Bend for 9 years, and this is the first time I can say that.
I got the 2 meat + a side combo with pork ribs and brisket, with the smoked mac & cheese side. Brisket was exactly what I shoot for when I make it, and not ashamed to say this was better. Good, simple seasoning, let the beef and smoke bring the flavor. It pulled apart with just a tiny tug beyond gravity itself, again, exactly how you want it.

Ribs were dry rubbed, not sweet, not spicy, just good middle of the road. I was just in Kansas City and had ribs from 4 different places. Only one of them tied with Hattie’s, and KC is known for ribs.

Mac & Cheese was legit. I’m not a sauce guy, but they have two of them. One seemed more traditional, or tomato based, and the other a little more vinegar based for those who like sauce. It honestly doesn’t need it.

Best BBQ I’ve ever had hands down. Had the mixed plate and got to try all the meats. (Mixed plate can easily feed 3 adults) Sides I had were the Mac n cheese and the elote dip.

All of it was phenomenal. I was expecting good things because of the word of mouth reviews I’d gotten from friends but I was blown away. Brisket was exceptional. Ribs were perfect. Burnt ends were literally meat candy perfection. Pork was soooooo good. My biggest surprise personally was how good the sausage was. I was trying everything and kept going back to the sausage. I’d go back for the sausage and elote alone.

Hattie’s BBQ isn’t just good — it’s the kind of BBQ that makes you rethink everywhere else you’ve ever eaten. Massive shoutout to Luke Mason for absolutely dialing this place in. You can tell there’s real craft behind it — the kind you only get from someone obsessed with doing BBQ the right way.

The brisket is stupid-tender with that perfect smoky bark, the ribs are the ideal mix of juicy and pull-off-the-bone, and the burnt ends should honestly be illegal. Every side hits, portions are generous, and the consistency is unreal — every visit is a home run.

Pair all that with the vibe at The Cross-Eyed Cricket and you’ve got the ultimate Bend combo: elite BBQ, cold drinks, and a place that feels like everyone’s welcome the second they walk in. Staff is friendly, service is fast, and the energy is just fun.

If you’re in Bend and skip Hattie’s, that’s on you. This is five stars without hesitation — the kind of spot you plan trips around. I’ll be back again and again.
