The food here is delicious and the staff are almost always friendly. But depending on the day and the time of day, or if there’s a crowd, the staff can sometimes make careless mistakes. Twice this week, they’ve made a mistake with my order, by accidently giving it to another customer right before I arrived and I didn’t have time to wait, so I had to make an extra trip to get it. And at the location on Medical Center in Murfreesboro, the staff seemed short staffed, there was hardly a place to stand in the waiting area to get my food. And when I got home I realized that my order included someone else’s sandwich with mine. Being that I was already on the other side of town at that time I couldn’t return it. And of course I’m sure the other customer probably was frustrated by them giving away her order by mistake.

Penn Station has been my favorite sub place for years with their fresh ingredients, friendly employees, and tasty options.
As a closet habit former, if I have a favorite meal most places I frequent, I tend to stick to it, and it’s no different here.
The fries are always prepared in front of you fresh with your meal (use the malt vinegar they provide for the fries – trust me), and the lemonade you can thankfully buy by the gallon (believe me, you’ll want to). They also have a variety of chips and different sandwiches and appetizers, or you can build your own.
The whole meal can be topped off with a huge, soft chocolate chunk cookie that makes me weak in the knees to think about, but all their stuff is great and super fresh. It’s something I look forward to at lunch time or grabbing on the way home after a day of running errands.

Service was nice. But their sad tomatoes, lack of anything good to drink since all the drinks in the fountain needed changed. Their tables and restrooms were very dirty. Their food was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price for the food that you get.

Where do I begin? The service and food are outstanding! The fries in particular. No where else can you get super fresh, crispy, golden delicious fries. They will kindly cook them just how you like them. I love crispy fries and they ALWAYS cook them a little longer until they’re perfect. Same is true with the hot subs. AND they will happily make any sub into a salad which is great if you’re gluten intolerant or are watching carbs.
