I have been coming here for years. I traveled all around the world and this is one of my favorite Thai places. The people are very friendly and welcoming. The food is always fresh and delicious.
The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because they really need to work on the booths.. the furniture is old and some booths seem broken. They would probably get more repeat business if they focused on that.

We walked in and were greeted warmly and directed to a booth. Our waiter, DJ, was AWESOME. He answered questions about the menu with ease and humor. He recommended future dishes based upon what we ordered tonight.
The fried dumplings were unlike any we’ve had before. They were light and delicious!
The food was very tasty, delivering on what the menu promised and more. We both have lunch for tomorrow.
We have found our favorite Thai restaurant in Mechanicsville!!

The food is AMAZING! We got the spring rolls and Money bags for appetizers and a won ton soup. I got the Pad See Ew with chicken for an entree and my husband got the Pad Woon Sen. We got fried ice cream for dessert. All of that and the bill came to under $100 (I had 3 beers and my husband had 2). Everything was DELICIOUS and the service was wonderful! It’s a small place but they really make you feel welcome and at home! Can’t wait to go back!

Friendly, welcoming staff. Our orders came out quickly. Serving sizes are generous. Enjoyed the pad thai and appreciated the mild level requested. Restaurant lighting was a little dim, but it added to the ambiance. Full tables on a Wednesday night really tell you how people enjoy this place.

It was an odd feeling when walked in. We sat ourselves. The bartender was preoccupied. We sat and waited. FINALLY, K.P. brought menus. I ordered the Thai Money Bags appetizer. Waiting for him to come back to take our order, took forever. When he brought the appetizer and took our order, more customers were coming in. They didn’t have to wait like we did.

Trying to use their website to determine what I wanted to eat. I Could not order online so called and placed my order. When I got to the restaurant, the price was more than $15 increased over what was online. I was told that’s their old website, those prices are not valid. Refused to honor price on the website due to discrepancy. Left without food and went to a different Thai restaurant that is more keeps their prices up to date. Won’t be going back here again as this is very deceptive and misleading.

1st and last time ordering from here. Ordered Thai money bags that were literally filled with corn no meat and paid an extra $3 for 4 shrimp in my fried rice. $22 for corn and 4 shrimp with rice is insane

Edible, not necessarily enjoyable. If you have foodie tastebuds, skip this place.
If you’re average give it a shot.
1 person $27 before tip, no alcohol.

Tonight my husband went to place our order at Marigold Thai and the child who appears to be the owner’s child took his order. My husband asked for both dishes to be mild, which the child repeated back to him. Immediately after paying for our order, my husband saw the child put down level 3. My husband called the gentleman over to ask what level 3 meant as we ordered mild, and the gentleman said it meant spicy. The gentlemen said he would correct it and have our dishes prepared as mild. My husband took his word. When we got home, as our order was a to go order, we found that both dishes were extremely spicy. Our dinner cost $54.79 and was not even able to be eaten. We feel quite strongly that instead of remaking the dishes we ordered as mild like we requested, Marigold Thai simply sent us home with the spicy dishes they felt we wouldn’t notice until we got home, hoping we would not complain. This isn’t the first time we have had this issue with their spice levels. We frequent Thai restaurants and have eaten here very often so we know their spice levels. The reason we order mild isn’t because we don’t enjoy heat on occasion, but because Marigold Thai has consistently been inconsistent with their heat levels.
We are so frustrated with this and tonight has made us go from long time customers to never wanting to return. In fact, we will actively recommend others don’t go there due to the lack of care for their customers and blatantly lying to our faces, stating they were giving us mild dishes when they gave us Level 3 spicy. This is completely unacceptable.
