When we walked in there were maybe 20-25 people in there and most were at the bar. We waited to be seated and no one acknowledged our existence for about 5-10 minutes. We were about to leave when a woman came up and sat us at our table. She let us know that they weren’t serving any burgers because they didn’t have any buns. She left us with the menus and forgot about us. She walked by several times, but never checked on us. We waved at her with no luck. We watched her go to the host stand and play on her phone and my kid went up to let her know that we were ready to order. We got the giant mozzarella sticks and the bulgogi pizza.
Our mozzarella sticks were brought out first. For the price, we thought we’d get more than 2 and that they’d be cooked all the way. They were still kind of cold on the inside. If they were warm, they would’ve been really good. We ate them anyway, because we were hella hungry at that point. Then when the pizza was done, the chef took out of the brick oven in the front and left it on the counter, he then walked back to the kitchen area. We didn’t see the hostess/server for a while. Then she popped up and wandered around the restaurant while we were trying to get her attention. She them goes back to the host station and starts rolling silverware and napkins. My kid had to again go up and ask her for our pizza. She got the pizza and added pepper to it before she brought it to us. It was just okay. Better than the mozzarella sticks though. We thought it would have more of a bulgogi flavor to it.
The quality of the food and service wasn’t worth the price in our opinion. We won’t be going back.
First, the place looks essentially the same as Pizza Rock, complete with the Peterbilt truck coming out of the wall. Cool decor.
Food: We got the Spicy Blues Burger with fries (surcharge for the fries) and a side of ranch, and the Memphis BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich.
The burger was smash burger style. Double patties, and crispy. It was good (not great) and wasn’t spicy at all. The Memphis sandwich was a gloppy mess. Good luck finding any pork flavor when it comes completely soaked in a sweet-ketchupy sauce with a little spice. Kinda like a pork sloppy joe.
Which brings us to the fries. If you order a side of fries, it’s an additional $4!!! I thought, well, they hafta be good fries for $4, let’s give them a shot. Not only did they arrive 5 minutes after I finished my burger, they were luke warm! And, then, I realized they not only charged me for a side of ranch ($.75), but they charged me for a full plate of fries! And…the fries were like little fry bits. Not good. At. All.
Service: by my count, there were 8 employees on duty, and 18 customers. The wait staff was attentive, but their excuse that my late fries were due to the lunch crush were laughable.
I’ve attached my bill at the end (paid with the Google QR code, which doesn’t let you split the bill, BTW). $45 for lunch for two, with no drinks, in downtown Sac is a little ridiculous. Good luck getting any of the State employees in as regular customers.
My prediction: this place won’t be around a year from now, unless they up their game (and lower their prices). Won’t be returning soon.
Ordered the Kimchi burger and Truffle/Prosciutto pizza. Burger was not good. Barely any meat and giant piece of carrot that made me feel like I was eating a carrot patty burger. Where was the cheese that it said it had?
Pizza was gross. World’s slimiest mushrooms and burnt prosciutto. Couldn’t even finish our meal. Gave the rest of the pizza away to one of the unhoused outside.
How can you mess up pizza and burgers when you’re literally called Burgers, Pizzas and More lol
I would never recommend going to this place at night if there’s a performance. They are unorganized, unfair, and super unprofessional. They hosted bandas after party. It was my friend’s birthday so one of our friends reserved through Instagram a booth for us . There are 10 of us girls. They stated we will be taken care of. But it was complete chaos, we got the shittiest booth and those who didn’t even reserved , who struggled to pay for their own admission got better booths than us. They moved us to the 2nd booth from the front but later moved us AGAIN because they’re reserved for the owner. But to be moved twice to a shittier spot than the other broke boys who could barely afford admission and get this.. it gets worse. The tequila they provide was so bad. They didn’t even give us an option of what tequilla bottle we wanted. They just gave us a bottle I have never heard of . It tasted like they mixed tequilla and water together. No one caught a buzz. It was the shittiest tequilla ever. The only thing I can say was the bottle girl was nice, she was the only one who apologized to us but the owners did nothing. Stick to making just food. If you’re going to be part of the “night life” in Sacramento like your IG biography says , be organized, find a structure, learn from the other clubs, yall are too new and inexperienced .
The Waitress felt horrible and did her best to clean up the mess and even went so far as to buy a $5.00 gift card out of her own pocket to try to make up for it. We felt rather bad for her and understand that accidents happen.
We were rather surprised when the restaurant itself took no action whatsoever to try to make up for it. They did not even offer a discount off the total bill nor did they even bother to apologize for the incident.
When I pointed that out to them all I received was a shrug of the shoulders from the Hostess/Manager on Duty. I was shocked!
Growing up my Grandfather owned Italian Restaurants in NYC and if something like that was to happen he would have all but tripped over himself to make it right. This restaurant thought it was appropriate to do absolutely nothing and simply shrug their shoulders when it was brought to their attention.
We did not accept the Gift Card that the Waitress Purchased with her own money as we did not feel that would have been appropriate.
I strongly suggest spending your hard earned dollars elsewhere…this place does not deserve them!
