Update 2/23/2026: I appreciate the solution you offered. The first person I spoke with on the phone was great; however, I was upset when the second person I spoke to suggested that I must have caused the issue because I used the handheld card terminal first. If no one knows how the authorization error occurred, it’s not appropriate to suggest it was the customer’s fault. I hope this feedback helps improve communication in the future.

I had a terrible experience with the billing and customer service at John Holly’s Asian Bistro. Our table split the check, and I fully intended to pay my portion — which I did by authorizing my card for only my half of the bill. Despite this, I was later charged again for the second half.

When I contacted the restaurant, I was told, “Talk to the people you dined with — not our problem.” That response is completely unacceptable. The staff handled the credit card terminal and the split. If the other payment was declined or didn’t go through, the table should have been told immediately so we could have resolved it on the spot. Instead, my card was charged again without authorization.

The lack of communication at the time of payment is a serious issue. They now have my money but cannot explain why or how it was taken. I have two separate charges on my statement but only swiped my card once — if I had intended to pay the full bill, there would only be one charge. Telling customers to sort it out among themselves after the fact rather than taking responsibility for their own payment system is poor business practice and terrible customer service.

I strongly recommend checking your statements carefully if you dine here.

I’ve only ordered delivery from here but the quality is always fantastic. Everything I’ve ever gotten has been perfect. The food isn’t cheap but it’s definitely not overpriced for what you get. They give you a ton of meat in the noodle dishes and the beef and chicken are delicious. The portions are very generous. It’s actually a better value than an $8 a dish Chinese food restaurant because of the portions and quality. I’ve never had one piece of chewy or fatty meat from them the 20+ times I’ve orders which is not something I can generally say about other Asian restaurants. My only complaint would be they should add more sauce to the noodles and expand their delivery area. I’m less than half a mile outside the zone so I have to order through a third party which means I’m paying more and the restaurant gets less. Not good for either of us.

I was visiting my mom, who was in the hospital nearby, and I needed dinner, so I decided on this place.

The food was great and there’s a lot of choices which were amazing.

They had happy hour prices from 4 pm to 6 pm.

I had spring vegetable spring rolls, Poison Ivy Roll, and Philadelphia Roll.
All very delicious!

I had a drink, but it was very weak and super sweet.

Update: I did receive a refund after reporting the issue. I was told the manager (Aaron) would contact me, but no one ever followed up.

Heads up: the online menus have inaccurate allergen information. I ordered a “gluten free” entree that turned out to contain gluten. I’m usually careful and even confirmed w/ staff before leaving but was still given incorrect info. After eating and feeling unsure, I called to confirm and was told the menu I saw was incorrect. The entree was made with flour and I got very sick.

UPDATE: Adding some new pictures of green curry cod, calamari, salmon, crab cake, lobster shrimp fried rice, and green beans and eggplant. SOOO GOOD. Full of flavor and deliciousness.

Price: Very fair. You are getting all that and then some.

Food: From wait time, to presentation, to taste…super flavorful, I’m always so excited to eat here lol

Their catering options are incredible too. Check out the pictures of the sashimi boats. I don’t eat sashimi but seeing how pretty it was, I almost wish I did lol.

Service: Everyone is so family oriented here. You get treated like you’re a part of the fam as well. Everytime I come here, I see regulars come in and can feel the warmth from the staff.

Environment: Dinning area, bar area with seating, sushi bar with seating. Not the biggest inside but plenty of room.

NTT [[Next Time Try]]: EVERYTHING. That’s it. That’s all. Eat everything. Lol.

This is the best sushi I’ve had in a long time!! Delicious, with beautifully presented dishes. They even gave us a complimentary (super yummy) pineapple boat for dessert. Can’t wait to have their sashimi and mango rolls again

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. We loved the cozy, clean and comfortable atmosphere. My husband ordered a lunch special: the General Tso’s Chicken that came with soup and a starter (he chose the California roll). We highly recommend this lunch! All the ingredients were fresh and perfectly prepared, plus there’s so much food!! The only thing we didn’t like was the California roll. Something was off, but we couldn’t really figure out just what.I ordered the Rising Sun Roll and since it’s basically just a California roll topped with salmon, it was also not the best. I’m not sure if one of the ingredients had too much salt or what, but it wasn’t good and I was disappointed by the sushi. Overall, great experience and the service was top notch!

My boyfriend took me here for a Sunday, date night. We walked in and the host walked passed us with no acknowledgement. We continued to stand and wait as she joked with the kitchen and then went right behind us to the order computer. No acknowledgement that we were there, even at arms reach from her. No food rating as we sadly couldn’t get greeted much less seated. It takes 2 mins to greet someone and say “I will be with you in a min” and it did not seem busy.

Wow!!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars for this place- everything was amazing! Atmosphere, service, food, and wait time was exceptional. Kevin took care of us and was very attentive and kind. We will definitely be back!
