This place has been a fixture in Springfield for 15+ years. The owners are a husband and wife, they are wonderful people and the food that they make is delicious. The service is prompt and courteous. The restaurant is clean and food is fresh.

We come here for the weekend buffet at least once per month and have been doing so for at least 5 years!

The food is good, don’t get me wrong but for me this dish has red food dyes and that’s a big NO when you go out to eat and look for a fresh dish , the service was below than average, probably no coming back.

Really tasty Indian food! The amount of vegan options are fantastic, and they are super knowledgeable on the vegan friendly menu options. The food was delicious, not greasy, and filling. Big portions! This place is great for romantic dates too! Highly recommend this gem!

We travelled from India to Chicago and then drive 8 hours to Kansas City. We didn’t have a chance to have any hot food during this 30 hour trip. We decided to just keep going, but we decided to stop in Springfield, Illinois for lunch, and were surprised to find an Indian restaurant. We didn’t want to dine in, and asked for plates and spoons and were given.

The little finger spring rolls were simply amazing! They were gone in about 5 minutes from the time we opened the box. They were delicious, just the right amount of spice and perfect! The aloo paratha was mild, but fresh, and not the frozen one that restaurants usually thrust at you. It was soft and the kiddo loved it. Wish they gave some aachar/pickle with it (but not complaining). We ordered aloo Bhaji as we didn’t want anything too heavy. It was simply the best. It tasted homemade. It came with rice, and went well. Taste was amazing for every dish!

The only reason I took off one star is because only the person at the counter had a mask on, no one else did. He didn’t have gloves on, didn’t use any sanitizer, and no one else had gloves. But I was too hungry to keep all this in mind. The ambiance looked good too, if we could have dined in. They were kind enough to let us use the restroom. We were there at almost closing time, but still entertained us, filled our water bottles and everything was just food.

This is a great buffet. Warm, plentiful but more importantly they had dishes I’d not seen on a buffet before and we go to a lot of Indian buffets where available. Price was about 14 pp. I’m leaving Springfield otherwise we’d be back. Food was wonderful and plates removed quickly. Only criticism..a little fruit would be nice..for diabetics.

Gateway to India in Springfield is a great place to visit for delicious Indian food. It’s conveniently located near Masala Mart, an Indian grocery store, and the ambience is nice compared to other Indian restaurants I have tried.
The restaurant was clean and the host was responsive, which added to the overall dining experience. I tried the Gobi Munchurian and the Veg Biryani, both of which were tasty, although the Veg Biryani was more similar to pulao.

Everything was well-seasoned and flavorful, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Overall, Gateway to India is a great choice for a satisfying and delicious Indian meal.

All you can eat for only 12.99$ is a very good deal, especially when the indian themed food are exceptional. The staff was very friendly and the venue was very well kept. It’s a hidden gem, in my opinion.

I’ve picked up to go and tried the buffet. I’ve ordered lamb biriyani, paneer Korma, chilli paneer(appetizer), naan, all to go.. these were great! Even reheated was good, the portions are big. My friend and I went to the buffet and it had a wide selection, I couldn’t even try it all. Staff is sweet and friendly. I highly recommend checking it out, definitely a new favorite spot for me.

Great dining experience and lunch buffet! They have many vegan options and are very helpful with pointing out what options on the menu or buffet are free of animal products. We’ve had a couple of vegan food meetups at Gateway to India and they never disappoint.
