Enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Spice Lounge. We enjoyed chicken sag, lamb Rogan and a spectacular aubergine dish, with rice and naan. The ingredients were top quality with rich aromatic flavours. Great service too!

Came in June last year on a work trip. Wasn’t expecting much but was blown away by the standard of food. No idea why it is only a 4.3/5. I have had far inferior curries at much higher rated places. I’ve even gone to the trouble of saving it so I can revisit next time I’m in Oxford.

A splendid meal. The charming restaurant is on busy Banbury Rd, Oxford, but inside it is quiet with soft Indian music in the background. It was a lovely summer evening so I chose to sit outside on a small roofed balcony. After the tasteful papa dam with four different sauces I chose a Naga style vegetarian dish. It is not the usual type of dish. Very distinctive flavours, rich and full of surprises. I think they use a particular kind of ginger and this Naga dish is rather hot, so if you are not keen on chillies (theirs were green, amazingly tasty) tell the waiter. The staff is very attentive. To sum up, it is an incredibly good restaurant. I wonder why it is not packed with diners. Perhaps I attended too early in the evening. In my next visit to Oxford I shall surely come again.

We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant. The food was flavorful without being overpowering, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was excellent. I dropped a star because the bill had a service charge attached. In several countries, a service charge should be expected; in the UK it is not expected. Please charge a bit more for your food and remove the service charge. Your patrons will leave with a better taste in their mouths.

The table was too small ( for 3)for the food, so it was cramped. Staff excellent.
January 4th I’m back. Warm welcome. Lovely music in background with flute.
Solo visit. Very nice. Ordered a few different starters as not too hungry. Again, the staff very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere as only me and a table of 4 the other side.
2 staff constantly walk around in anticipation of a request from only 5 customers.
Gotta give them 11 out of 10 for service.

It’s been on the list to visit for a while and we managed to get here for an early Sunday evening family meal. Kids catered for if you need that. We had 8 in our party and the bill was around £330. Food was great and full of flavour. Service was good and staff great. Would return.

Finally found the delicious curry I was looking for and curry portions were generous. Unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked as I could only afford one portion of fries. Had I got two it would have cost me almost £10 which I feel is extortionate for a few fries. As is £5.50 for just 4 poppadoms. I can normally get double the amount for that price from other places

Loved our experience at Spice Lounge! The menu has so much choice, all your standard curries you’d expect plus more I’d never heard of! Poppadoms and chutneys were some of the best I’ve ever had, all of our curries were delicious and distinct flavours, and the sides and the sharing platter were great too. Service was very friendly and welcoming and we felt really relaxed. Will definitely be making this our regular curry house!

Fantastic service and great portion sizes I think let down slightly by prices. It’s the most expensive Indian I’ve had in a long time and with only one main dish, rice, one naan, a sharing starter and a drink each I was surprised it came to nearly £60! I’d highly recommend the Vege sharing starter and our main was a little oily.
