Well service is not so great. But the brisket, the ribs and the potatoe salad were good. The pulled pork and the beans were nothing special. Not worth driving out of your way, portions are very small.

Phenomenal food and service! Space was small seating and I was afraid the customers wouldn’t fit but we did. Bathroom is around back. We had the bbq potato and a sandwich. Everything was amazing. We were stuffed and were able to eat off of it the next night. I can’t wait to visit again!

We had Sally’s Combo Plate with Ribs and Brisket, my Wife had Cole slaw and tater tots, I had Cole slaw and sliced fried baked potatoes.
Plenty of food, Ribs was her favorite and I liked the Brisket best. The sliced fried baked potatoes were unique and had a great taste and their Cole slaw was mayonnaise based and we both liked it.
The restaurant was clean and inviting. Sort of a step back in time, with the single restroom outback but it was very clean also. Food and service were good and the Staff was very friendly. Sally’s is very popular and they were very busy.
Try it, we enjoyed it

This is a little place with big flavor. They smoke and cook their food and serve you that, fresh, daily.
I got the pulled pork plate with baked beans and fried potatoes. The pork was fresh, tender, delicious, juicy, and not full of fat like other bbq places! The baked beans were good too, but the fried potatoes were fantastic – crispy, salted, flavorful, and delicious. Even the toast that comes on these plates was good.
I also got iced tea, and it was fresh and delicious.
I don’t usually write a review for a place I’ve only been once, but I was incredibly impressed. I’m already planning the next time I can go back.

After a day of trekking all over the country side, the food was excellent! Small little place with some character. I had beef brisket, my wife had pulled pork. We did not get any of their famous banana pudding, as they were out. We did have some lemon meringue pie.

Super friendly and the food was fantastic – worth at least a six hour detour just to go there. The meat was better than the sides, but given that the meat was a religious experience, that’s not in any way an insult. The chipotle slaw was interesting (I’m not a slaw person but it was definitely worth trying regardless).

It was FANTASTIC!!!! First time I have eaten there and the rib plate was absolutely wonderful. The meat peeled right off the bone and was as tender as anything I have ever eaten. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Closer to a 3.5 than a 3, but I can’t quite bring myself to round up.

Sally’s is a tiny little place, like many BBQ shacks – only about five tables. You order at the counter. The service was fairly friendly and they brought our food as well as cups of ice for our drinks out to us.

We ordered two loaded baked potatoes, a pork sandwich, and a smoked chicken plate.

The smoked chicken was probably the most well-received. It was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Beans and coleslaw were unremarkable. The toast was pretty good – very buttery and garlicky.

The pork loaded baked potatoes were just alright. They needed more sour cream and cheese, in my opinion, although I liked that they salted the skin; don’t see that too often. The pork itself had great smoke flavor but was a little on the fatty side side and a bit too salty. The potato itself was also quite a bit smaller than many other loaded pork potatoes you get elsewhere, but the price at least reflected that. There was an option between small and large on the menu, but we weren’t offered that option when ordering. I wonder if she assumed we wanted the small. Well, if you’re very hungry, I’d say try getting the large. It’s only 2 dollars more.

Pork sandwich suffered from the same pork problems, but didn’t have the greatness of a potato to balance it out – just an anemic hamburger bun.

Overall, Sally’s is an alright place to stop if you’re passing through.

A must stop when in Fort Payne if you are a BBQ lover. We either eat in the restaurant or get a to go order to take back to the RV campground at DeSoto State Park whenever we come to the park. The outside of the restaurant doesn’t look like much, but isn’t that the way it always is with good bbq?

The brisket was delicious however I wasn’t crazy about the cheese potatoes, and they did a fantastic job for catering for the Fernwood of Mentone Wedding Chapel!
