Litch Outside
We have been here a couple times now. If you are looking for something unique and fun check it out. It seems like it’s off the beaten path but not really. Dining in a General Store from the 1800’s is pretty cool but let’s talk about the food and host. Dave has done a great job creating dishes with care and our experience has been nothing but positive. Plan ahead as you need to order before you arrive and seating is limited but so worth the experience. Seems like he has a solid repeat following too which speaks volumes to the care Dave puts into his weekly dinner menus. Sincere and genuine guy that obviously loves what he is doing.

My son had his wedding there. He married the most beautiful woman – beautiful inside and out. The owner/chef was wonderful! The food was amazing. The service and attention to detail and our comfort/needs. It was an amazing evening!!

Dave completely Ruined the General Store for one the general store is called a general store for a reason, not to turn it into a half ass restaurant in the middle of nowhere this ISNT NYC.This is Stillwater you took away from the people of Stillwater, that used to be the place where people can go grab breakfast or lunch and grab a gallon of milk and stuff not for someone to turn it into a wanna be Hyde-away. Get over yourself like your open once a week?? For only a few hours that sounds like laziness to me. When your in business you do what the people want not what you want you have to consider how the locals feel not a heartless selfish person like Dave would never consider. I was a regular and Everytime I went in there the staff was so amazing the severs were so polite and worked so hard.Especially this one young man he always was there busting his ass he was very nice and always had me leaving with a smile on my face,he said to me that he had so much passion for the place and he loves it here and never sees himself leaving in the future plans on buying the places and changing back to good old general store it used to be it’s awful how this place went down hill.

What an amazing gem hidden in a small town!
We went to visit family in the area and there’s not much around, but there was this general store, turned cafe. We were arriving on a Saturday and my aunt asked if we wanted to try dinner at the cafe. You reserve your spot and place your order ahead of time. There’s only one seating for dinner but you are served a one of a few choices for each course of the 4-course meal (appetizer, salad, entree with two sides, and dessert).
For the appetizer, I ordered the shrimp cocktail. It was a good, standard shrimp cocktail. My wife had the Mushroom & Herb Cream Cheese Crostini, which she loved.
Next we were served the salad with Mixed Greens, Watermelon, Almond & Feta with Balsamic Dressing. It was very light and refreshing. Amazing flavor combinations.
For the entree, my wife and I both ordered the beef short rib. Simply amazing. It was fork tender, wonderful flavor and topped with gravy. The sides were Brussel sprouts on top of shredded carrots, and a bacon cheddar potato. Every thing was cooked to perfection. (The kids both got the Chicken Parmigiana and loved it)
For dessert, we strategized and got two of each dessert to split between the four of us. Creme Brulee Raspberries and
Chocolate Panna Cotta with Mandarin Orange & Cream. All I can say is we wish we got four of each. We split them and they were both so delicious, we wished there was more to go around. The portions were great and we were already stuffed from the meal, but that didn’t stop us from all cleaning our dessert plates.
(The location is BYOB. The are sodas, juice and water on location, but bring your own alcohol.)

I’ve had bacon all over the world. New York. London. LA. Berlin. I still dream about the Bacon here that we ate waiting for our Philly friends to show up for a hike. The home fries were great too. Only been once, but would make a detour to go again if I’m in the area and hungry.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious 4-course prix fixed dinner for our anniversary. The communication and service around the meal was warm and friendly, and my food allergy needs were met without issue. We will definitely return soon!

My husband and I had a delicious 4-course meal at a very reasonable price. The chef was super nice and accommodating to my dietary needs. Historic building in a quaint little town. We’ll be back!

I came in for their Friday night dinner special that they have every other week. It was a fixed four course dinner for $32.00. They have two seatings and I would definitely recommend reservations because every seat was taken. The portion sizes for your appetizer and salad were ideal. When my entree came out I was amazed how much was given to me. I didn’t think I could finish it but it was too good to take home. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo with rice and corn bread. By the time dessert came I had to bring it home because I was so full, but that was delicious too. I hope they continue this small town gem because I will definitely come back.

Delicious Sunday breakfast! A full breakfast menu with hearty portions, friendly service, excellent bottomless coffee, all in a beautiful space. Five in our party this morning, ordering from all across the menu. All the dishes came out together, nice and hot, and each was thoughtfully prepared exactly as ordered and excellent. Everyone in our group loved the dish they ordered, which included omelettes, pancakes, French toast, fried eggs, and home fries (we ordered ours with peppers and caramelized onions). This place is a treasure. Highly recommend

I recently visited for the Saturday dinner, and the server was a nice young man. The food was average, but worst of all, I saw a rat bigger than my cat crawled out of a hole on the floor and scurried up the stairs. I didn’t say anything about it at the time. But I think it’s best I say something…
