The best authentic Mexican food in the area, by far! The tortas are the best. The staff is super friendly and always go above and beyond. Been going here almost weekly for over a year. I literally drive 45min each way to pick up food here, it’s that good. Cannot recommend enough.

I really love this place. I got the chicken burrito and one of each type of tamale. The burrito is possibly the best that I’ve ever had. So flavorful and delicious. The tamales were amazing. It’s really hard to find them for some reason around here. Nobody ever has them. I got one of each type and they were absolutely perfect. Homemade tortilla chips and buffalo dip were also excellent.

Love this place, recently went for birra tacos and they were so good. Since I haven’t had them before the server gave us a quick how to lesson. All the food was excellent, fast service, friendly and the place was super clean. Also had maybe the best tiramisu cake I’ve ever had for dessert. 5 stars across the board

We ordered from El Buen Amigo thru Uber eats and boy what a surprise the food was perfect we ordered La Torta Milanesa which is a chicken sandwich and we also ordered 8 tacos 4 tacos al pastor 2 chorizo and 2 carnitas and they were really good with salsa verde for some kick of heat I will be back soon …

This place is such a lowkey spot, in the middle of a neighborhood in North Scranton. For the atmosphere, the restaurant was obviously a residential home before, but that adds to the dining experience methinks. Gives the place a charm.
In terms of the food and prices, it’s absolutely the best bang for the buck compared to any other authentic Mexican place I’ve tried around here. 4 quesabirria tacos for $14 is very fair, and it’s so delicious. When I came home I was so excited that I ate two tacos before remembering I was gonna write this review, hence my photo only having two tacos
In terms of service, I’ve always called ahead to pick up my order and I’ve always been consistently greeted with kindness. The people here are very friendly and my family and I are more than happy to continue giving them our patronage. Excellent food, excellent people, excellent prices, El Buen Amigo excels at everything they’re doing.

This place is a hidden gem. Everything on the menu is delicious- especially the pork carnitas, burritos, and birria tacos. The chips and salsa, piña colada, and desserts were great too.
