Food is pretty good overall. Salsa could be better. Chips great. Servers do not speak much English at all, so that’s a challenge. I do speak some basic Spanish, but, it was still difficult to communicate. My server came over to check on us approximately 10 times in 1.5 hours… annoying.

We had a great time here! The blended magaritas were awesome. My chile verde with rice and beans were super flavorful and hot as well. Prices are quite steep for Mexican food, but I come to expect that in the Drake area. Overall great spot for Drake students, and great food with many options.
Highly recommend!

We stopped here for lunch today on the way to a brewery. The service was good and I liked the chips (thick) and the guacamole. I wasn’t as impressed with the Chicken Tostada though, as it was pretty bland and the chicken had telltale signs of coming from a can.
If you are stopping by for margaritas, chips and guacamole, this is as good a stop as any. However, we don’t plan to stop back again for a meal.

I love this place. Good authentic Mexican food and great price. They also have the Mexican coke that is made with sugar in the glass bottle. It’s a family business. I had a lime margarita. It has a vegetarian section on it’s menu for vegetarians.

Being from TX, you start to rate Mexican food starting with chips and salsa… That’s where I should have known it wasn’t going to be stellar. The salsa to me was a Mexican version of a marinara. I had fajita’s (beef, chicken, shrimp and chorizo). The shrimp was decent, the chicken and beef could use a bit more flavor but the chorizo was quite flavorful. The peppers and onions were good. They only have refried beans so keep this in mind. Our waitress was super nice and more than accommodating, let me put that out there!!! I ordered a Mimosa Mexicana… Which wasn’t bad as it was something different. My Boyfriend ordered Carnitas entree and he is a carnitas connoisseur and he found that my chorizo was better, therefore ordering a side of chorizo. He had a house margarita and again is an aficionado for margs but it wasn’t an order another round type drink.

Fake ground beef. It’s actually soy. I ordered a beef chimichanga and got a canned turkey burrito. No grease no flavor. I walked out on a check for the first time in my life. AVOID AT ALL COST! DO NOT ENTER. Look at attached photo. That is not chicken.

Ordered a meal online and was told I had to wait 40 minutes and when I got there my order still wasn’t ready. Anyway the salsa was spilled all over the bag. There wasn’t enough beef in my bowl nor was it seasoned. Not too sure I’d give them a try again.

This place has horrible customer service. My experiences here have been bad EVERY TIME. They can NEVER get my order right, something’s always missing or made wrong and they are over priced for the quality of food and service we’ve receive. Would never go here again. Gave them plenty of chances and they always seem to disappoint.
