The banded rooster was a nice change from the other food options in the area. Reuban was thin slices and crispy with Swiss n thousand island. Pulled pork was fat n juicy with just enough bbq to spill over into your hands. Onion rings were crispy and delicious as we’re the fries and fried pickles. The chipotle mayo was tasty too. I ended up dipping my fries after the pickles were gone!

Stopped in to the Hotel manager’s recommended place. Super cool place. Bartenders and wait staff were so nice. Asked what her favorite was, she said French Dip. Wife got that, fantastic. I got the bourbon pork chop, also fantastic. Place and staff were so good wife bought a hat.

6-14-25 Small town steakhouse done correctly. The steaks were perfection in flavor and rareness. The red snapper was literally and figuratively “Off the hook!” Our server was hump busting but stayed on top of things with professionalism and personality! They are building new just down the street next 54 Country Dance hall. That is gonna be a great combo. Highly recommended will come again.

Never have I felt a staff go out of their way to avoid serving me. We ordered our food and when it finally arrived it was inedible due to being so deliberately salty. Not one person on the staff there recognized that we sat with our food getting cold waiting for fresh silverware because our first set was dirty. Our waitress didn’t even inquire as to why we just paid our bill and didn’t eat but a few bites of food. 2 tables seated after we ordered our us received their food before us. The least they could have done was hang the stars and bars outside to let us know we wouldn’t be welcome.

The food is always great! That have some unusual dishes as well as classics. Service is very good too! Even when it’s full, it’s not too loud for conversation. And the desserts are incredible!

Food taste was good, but portion size was smaller than expected for the cost. They’ve increased their prices, decreased the quality of the food, and decreased the items on the menu. Service is normally exceptional here, but the young lady working tonight needs more training. She didn’t check on us once while eating, never filled our drinks, and this was at 8:30 pm, when the restaurant was slow. She didn’t have the common sense to bring the ticket when we asked for carry out boxes, then had an attitude when we asked for our ticket, which was after waiting 15 more minutes to get her attention. I’ve sent people here in the past and we were eating here very regularly, but with the changes, it’s a waste.

Very good food. And the new building is great. You won’t walk away hungry they have a good amount on your plates.. lol. The servers were always checking up on the tables and refilling drinks. Not hard to signal the server to your tables they’re engaged.

Food used to be better. Medium rare steaks were rare. Well done steak took 3 times back to the kitchen to get done. Cook in kitchen was not wearing a hair net and had a very large unnetted beard.

Signature drinks were phenomenal. Food was served quickly and was delicious. We had a decent sized group who all tried different menu items and enjoyed them. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff were all amazing. We got there around 430, and must have beat the rush, because when we left the place was packed. I definitely recommend it.

The name might say “Bar and Grill,” but that label doesn’t begin to do this place justice. Our group of 24 guys rolled in on a Saturday night after a long day of golf. The night before, we’d had a disappointing dinner at another local spot, so our hopes were high but our expectations were low. We knew showing up with that many people unannounced would be a lot to ask, and sure enough we had to wait a bit while they pushed tables together to fit us (totally on us—we should have called ahead). Once everything was set up, though, we settled in quickly and were served promptly.
From the start, our waitress (Kasarah sp?) was phenomenal. She didn’t miss a single drink order or overlook even the smallest request—impressive given the size of our group. We ordered quite a few different appetizers, and everyone raved about them across the board. A couple of standouts deserve special mention: the smoked-then-fried chicken wings—loaded with deep, smoky flavor and a fabulously crisp exterior—and a spinach-artichoke dip that was probably the best I’ve ever had.
When it came time for entrées, we asked our waitress for recommendations, and hers were spot on. Several guys ordered the fried chicken and said it was absolutely incredible. I went with the prime rib special along with a few others; it was cooked to perfection and came with bacon-wrapped green beans (delicious) and cubed potatoes that were also very good. A few in our group saved room for dessert, and they reported those were just as good as everything else we’d been served.
By the end of the meal, more than one of the frequent travelers in our group said they’ll make this a regular stop whenever they’re driving Highway 70. I plan to do the same the next time my wife and I are visiting our daughter at Mizzou. I can’t praise this place enough—the entire experience was unforgettable.
