The beans and rice still deserve the awards that R.M. used to earn, and I was surprised at how the food overall is an improvement over R.M. My favorite dishes are the Chicken Mole (Thursday nights) and something called Erick’s Special, which has guac, shredded Chicken, rice and white beans. I really love the refried beans, so I often sub that in for the whole beans. I also adore the classically egg-battered chile relleno (filled with ground beef or cheese) and the Clare Burrito (a huge button filled with whole beans and guac and covered in green sauce and queso fresco.
Most dishes come with tortillas and I love both corn and flour (though the floor are my favorite) as well as rice and beans. And they often (not always) have flan available for dessert, which is refreshingly different than most flan dishes in that I find it to be more custardy. I’ve since moved away from the Valley and this place is on the very short list of restaurants I must visit every time I come into town
I always get the shrimp taco cuz its amazing and you can’t beat sitting on the patio on a Saturday night watching all of the souped up cars roll down main street.
Love this place!!!
Huge burritos, veggie options, shrimp tacos are the best in the area.
Challenge me. Kidding, not kidding. Ive tried them all!!!
This place is an absolute gem! I’m a very picky eater, but every single dish here has been nothing short of flawless. The food feels like it’s made with so much love, you can taste it in every bite. I had the albondigas, and we also ordered gorditas (chicharrón and carne asada) and all of them were phenomenal.
What really sets this spot apart is the owner’s hospitality. The service makes you feel like you’re right at home visiting your grandparents. Warm, welcoming, and genuine. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both incredible food and heartfelt customer care at this level.
We’ll absolutely be back again and again. Truly 20 out of 10 experience.
