Alright, raw take—here it is.
This place was nasty. Full stop.
They delivered the wrong roll—how do you screw that up when the order is one roll, two nigiri, and edamame? That’s sushi on easy mode.
Then the smell hit. Rotten. Like fish that missed its expiration date by a few bad decisions. I took two bites, maybe three, and had to tap out. You couldn’t even tell what fish it was supposed to be. Mystery roll. Hard pass.
Now I’m sitting here fighting nausea, trying not to puke, pretty confident I just paid for food poisoning. Awesome experience.
And here’s the kicker—I work at one of the top-rated sushi restaurants in Cincinnati. I know good fish. I know acceptable fish. This wasn’t even in the same universe. Lowest quality I’ve ever had, and that’s not exaggeration.
I would never go back. Not once. Not for free.
If you care about freshness, quality, or your stomach—run.

Not busy. Apps came out quick. Took over an hour for our main courses. We noticed the constant flow of delivery orders going out as well as table that arrived after us getting their orders. Server was apologetic but young and not someone trained properly to deal with this issue. The food was very good once we got it. The situation and our complaint were handled by giving us a 10% discount, which I would say wasn’t sufficient, and no visit from the manager. Opinion of the table was that none of us would spend another dime there.

Subject: APPALLING Experience: Inexcusable Service and Subpar Food Quality
I am writing this review to express my absolute fury and disgust with the experience I had at this establishment.
While the restaurant itself appeared clean, this superficial quality completely fails to mask the severe lack of service and the appalling quality of your sushi. The food was, frankly, subpar, but one piece was particularly egregious. It was so stringy it was like chewing on a bunch of tendons—completely inedible.
What followed was an absolute disgrace. When we asked for a replacement for the inedible piece, we were met with shocking arrogance and refused a replacement or removal from the bill because we had already “eaten off of that.” This response is a blatant insult to the customer and demonstrates a breathtaking level of incompetence.
I have never, in all my years, experienced such atrocious customer service. The staff’s attitude was dismissive and utterly unprofessional. This is not how you treat a paying customer who has been served fundamentally bad food. I will be sure to share this experience widely and ensure others are aware of the appalling standards at your restaurant.

amazing sushi at fantastic prices. Try the Godzilla roll. Next time visit I am ordering the Boston roll. Just a heads up, their “spicy” a lot of times is just adding spicy mayo.

Service has gone downhill. After getting seated, it took forever for our waiter to take our order, even though there were four standing around, two were even on their phones texting. The food got brought out separately so two of us had to wait 5 minutes while the food sat there for the other dishes to arrive so we could actually eat together. We also had a young toddler there and even though we had cleared a separate place to put plates and even asked the waiter to stop setting food in front of the baby, she brought out a sizzling bowl and set it directly in front of her. Along with that left a baby blanket there, called to see if they had it. The person that answered didn’t speak English and said it was thrown away. Called back later and someone that spoke English said they just found it on the floor where we were sitting… two days later, if that tells you anything about their cleaning practices.

My fiancé and I love this place! We hardly ever get to go out to eat because of our schedules, 2 toddlers, and a 6 months old. We get to sushanati at 9:10pm. When we arrived we were told by the hostess that dining area was closed and that we could get food to go. What kinda place closes their dining area 50 minutes before their actual closing time? Looks like it’s back to cloud 9 sushi in Mt Lookout. We won’t back

Hi writing the owner of sushinati to try and save your restaurant. Long time lover of this place and have been many times. Went there with my family tonight and had a horrible experience. Waited on sushi for over 45 minutes and then got deep fried sushi and green beans ice cold. Asked for a remake and the waiter said “I can do that but the cooks are very rude.” You could tell unfortunately she was very uncomfortable. It was an all male cooking staff and all women waitresses. As a result, she did take it back and then regretfully informed me that the cook said he would not remake the sushi. I asked her if I could have a number for corporate or manager. She said the waitress staff has been trying to call the manager tonight and received no answer. I said sorry and she apologized for the experience. So I just went with my whole family down to the yummy bowl Mongolian grill. And for the time being we will continue to avoid this place until changes are made. Sorry everyone but avoid sushinati at all costs. Cooking crew is too prideful while delivering sub par food. Even if I got a gift card or credit to this place, it’s been officially “x” ed off my list. But man do I love Asian food and anime. Sad to go but necessary. BEWARE!!!

This was so yummy! I had never l been here but my friends wanted sushi so we came here. I don’t like sushi. I got the chicken fried rice stone bowl with a said of teriyaki. Came with the standard house salad. Very delicious!! Definitely want to come again. Stone bowl was $15. Not sure what my friends paid for their sushi but it looked awesome and they enjoyed it. This place gets really cramped when busy. Very small dining area with limited seating and tables are close together. There are a few outdoor seating tables if you would rather eat outside on a nice day.
Update: I finally tried sushi….and I loved it! I noticed they had deep fried options on their menu so I took the plunge. I believe I got the Sunday morning. It was salmon in the sushi, deep fried and drizzled with eel sauce. Will definitely have to try more of the deep fried options.
Edit: Each time has been great except we went over the weekend and Mikaila the server was not friendly and provided poor service. We overheard the table next to us mention she was rude to them as well. I hope to not see her next time I come back. I do not want her as my server.

Ordered the Ramen and added zucchini. It was a nice size portion and came out good and hot. Nice and friendly atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
