It’s a rooftop bar with a somewhat limited view (think 1/4 of roof or less). Tried to order food and what seemed normal (mayonnaise) was not available. Cute if you’re ok with that.

It could have been nice, but service is infrequent and not very inviting. The food was ok. A couple dishes were good, a couple were just…not. Particularly bad was the grilled cheese. Brie killed it.
The vibe after sunset started nicely—warm fires at the tables, plenty of small lights lining the perimeter. Then at 8:00 a super bright white spotlight automatically kicked on and it felt like being at a high school soccer game or IKEA parking lot. Absolutely destroyed the mood. Really disappointing.

I walked 11 miles to get here and was very excited for good food and drinks. It took us 1.5 hours to get our food even though the rooftop was basically empty. The food they brought out was thawed and cold. They had to remake everything. They forgot our drinks for 30 minutes. They also have red food colored corn chips which is strange for a high end resort. They then rang our card they had on file and brought out a bill for us to provide another card? Very mismanaged place, service is abysmal, food is utterly inedible (I got food poisoning), and place is quite run down. Avoid this place and go to the Vanderbilt rooftop where you will experience service and edible food.

Went during the week for some drinks for my birthday and wow what a treat! First time being here, bites were tasty and the bartender Jordan was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were awesome. Went on a cloudy day, but views were still lovely. We will be back!

Dan and Dan are so fantastic. These bartenders are exceptional. We went on a Monday Tuesday in the off season. Both of these bartenders showed us an amazing and entertaining experience. They invented and discussed unique craft cocktails. They went above and beyond and I recommend it to anyone visiting Newport, whether or not you’re staying at Viking.

Bar was supposed to open at 3 but all the bartenders were still setting up when we got there a little past 3. We were also told that the kitchen wouldn’t be open for an hour so we wouldn’t be able to order any food. Staff was visibly stressed. Not sure what the deal was. We had very high expectations given the fact that this is at the top of a high end hotel but it was really just a cluster f.

Rooftop bar with a great view, good service, nice seating options, & good drinks. Whether you want to relax by yourself or with a date to watch the sunset, this is a great spot. The live music was a great added benefit.
