I’ve driven by this place so many times when going to other shops and restaurants around Riverdale and finally decided to try it today. And wow, I can’t believe I haven’t tried it sooner. An employee named Jeffry was at the counter and showed me different items on the menu before taking my order. He was very hospitable and friendly, filled up a glass of water for me and asked me where I’d like to sit and brought my utensils and such to that table. The atmosphere is really nice, it wasn’t that busy when I went but there was music playing and I really liked the decor. It is connected to the Te’Amo boba tea shop next door.

As for the food, I got a 10 piece wing combo in the soy garlic sauce, chicken katsu and a korean corn dog. Everything was AMAZING! The wings had the perfect crisp and the soy garlic sauce has a perfect savory flavor. The chicken katsu was great as well, I loved the flavor of the chicken as well as the sauce drizzled over it. The corn dog was to die for, it’s a traditional Korean corn dog filled with cheese. I also got free sides with the main dishes I ordered, I chose the coleslaw which was perfect as well. Not too sweet, not too sour, just right.

The menu items are a bit pricy but the taste absolutely makes it worth the money. I will definitely be back in the future to try more of the menu because despite the name of the restaurant, they have a lot more food than just Korean fried chicken, it is a fully fledged quick service Korean restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!

I loved the food, but the only reason the rating isn’t 5 stars is because I didn’t like the music playing on the speakers. The chicken is very crispy and amazing the spicy chicken is kinda spicy and the 2nd most spicy one wasn’t spicy. Sorry all my photos are half eaten I couldn’t wait after getting my food

tried several dishes from this new Korean chicken restaurant, and everything was absolutely delicious! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and each flavor had its own unique taste. The service was friendly and fast, and the staff made sure everything was perfect. The restaurant is also spacious and very clean. I’m so glad this place opened nearby. Definitely one of my new favorite spots

Sparkling clean restaurant with friendly service and excellent food at a reasonable price. We started with pot stickers, then moved on to fried rice, chicken katsu and bibimbap with bulgogi. We ordered pickled radish and kimchi on the side– the first time we’ve ever been in a Korean restaurant that did not serve kimchi as part of the main course. Still, the quality and size of every portion was outstanding. Highly recommended.

We’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed. Just a note, they are now named Chingu (the signage did not reflect the name change). They are the same as the Burnsville Center location and the Maplewood location that is still under construction (as of 12/6/25). The staff is very friendly and attentive which makes it a welcoming experience. We always go for the soy garlic sauce on the KFC, it is by far our favorite. The chicken is always good sized, juicy, and the sauce blends perfectly. Just an FYI, the wings are split into two pieces, the flat and the drummie. That will count as two pieces when calculating the piece count. We have not tried any other dishes because we love the chicken so much! You can’t go wrong with Korean Fried Chicken!

Finally gave this new Korean chicken spot a try, and overall, it didn’t disappoint. Customer service was great — friendly and attentive staff that made the experience smooth from start to finish.

The chicken had solid flavor, though I do wish it was coated a bit more generously with the sauce. Portion size felt a little on the smaller side, but the taste made up for it. As a nice surprise, they gave a free mochi donut as a courtesy — a sweet touch that left a great impression!

The restaurant was clean and offers both takeout and sit-down dining, which is convenient. If you’re curious and haven’t been yet, I’d definitely recommend checking it out!

The best Korean fried chicken in the Twin Cities.

Amazing food and service. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Spice levels are crazy. You will suffer.

The owners, Jeffrey and staff are amazing. They always give you a big smile and welcome as soon as we walk in.

They treat us like royal customers.

The restaurant is always nice and clean.

Te’ Amo is connected to them. You can order your drinks from a QR code at the table and they will bring your drinks right to you.

You get lots of food for a good price.

This place is just great, flat out great. The food has so much flavor, the staff are all wonderful and the dining area is very clean and comfortable.
My family struggles with what to get here because it’s all so amazing. We always end up bringing so much home because we just want to try some of everything.
The buldok, chicken katsu, shrimp human, and chicken are all amazing, but the fried rice is on a whole different level. I have tried fried rice at many different restaurants and I can say that Chi Maek has the best fried rice. It really stands alone in flavor and presentation.
I would say if you are in the area to stop on and give it a try, but honestly, it’s worth the drive no matter how far you are away.

really nice clean place however sometimes (like today) it takes about an hour to get your food. I ordered at 11:51 online and didnt leave until 12:44pm with the food. I also requested crispy which it wasnt and the spicy side wasnt spicy even with the extra spicy notation (there was barely any sauce on it at all actually).

They absolutely seemed to have forgotten my order or rushed it at the end after i asked after the 45m wait. I was offered a free can of soda for the hour long wait.

Two of the drummys were super tiny, maybe combined half the size of the third drummy, so the food wasnt really filling either. Some of the wings were small too. Not the quantity of food im used to getting from here or bonchon.

this place is really hit or miss. Bonchons out in maple grove seems to be more reliable in both quality (amount of sauce/spice esp on a custom request), quantity of meat, and time of making the food. Which sucks because Chi Maek is 10m away as opposed to 20 but for the difference its worth it

Lastly idk why they charge so much and give such big portions of fries for seasoned fries.

Unsure if ill continue going here.

Chi Maek definitely made my night! After a long day of work, I stopped here to pick up some dinner. I ran inside to place my order and then waited in the car since my daughter was asleep in the car.

About 10–15 minutes later, I went back inside to grab my food and was surprised when the worker handed me a mochi donut, saying it was for my child. Maybe he could see on my face how exhausted I was, but that small gesture truly made my entire evening. Thank you so much to that worker for the kindness!
