The ladies serving are awesome. Super friendly and sweet as ever.
I don’t know what happened to this place though . They close early most days and still sell the dry food from the vitrines. I used to sit and eat there but the restaurant is no longer presentable. Sometimes I wonder how sanitary the kitchen is.
The food is still good and well priced, but just check the fried food and ask for it fresh and wait if necessary.
Order fresh food and take it home.

I went this pass Sunday and got a few things 3 chicken empanadillas 2 alcapurria and a potato ball and 3 can sodas I paid $13 for everything which was a good price but the empanadillas was small with no flavor the alcapurrias was hard and super dry and the worst was the potato ball not only was it falling apart it smelled so bad like the meat was bad I wish I could of turned back around just so they can smell how bad it smelled I only went because a coworker recommended it but I’ll stick to El Coquito

I got 14 empandillas, 6 surrilltos, 3 alcapurrias, 2 relleno de papa for I believe $25. I visited another pr spot in Bridgeport before I got 3 empandillas, 1 bacaloito, 1 alcapurria, and 3 surrilltos for $15. (Was good but expensive) so I do recommend Rainbow restaurant. BUT make sure u bring CASH!

If the food not freshly done its just ok not lunch taste. A lot of the frituras that sit around get dry and not too Appetizing I have taste of the food and fresh out the kitch in and it taste much better. Street parking only and cash only.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 20 year’s the place is always clean, bilingual and courteous staff always trying to please the customer. As for the food hot, fresh, good portions, and the selection are many. The menu changes daily + prices are good. I travel from New Haven, CT to Bridgeport at least twice a month so it has to be good.

If you’re looking for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, look no further than Rainbow. Everything I’ve tried there has been excellent! Super fast and happy service, and the prices are extremely inexpensive. You can pick up lunch for $4 and have leftovers. Give them a try if you’re near East Main Street in Bridgeport. You won’t be disappointed.
