Rustic French fare in a polished, wood-furnished bistro outpost with a zinc-topped bar plus terrace.

Wow! We hired the private upstairs room for our wedding dinner and we’re so glad we did. It was beautiful, well organised, and the food was insane! The staff had always been really communicative with us, always helpful and we felt very relaxed with them. We had 40 guests, which was a perfect size. Very glad we chose this place for our wedding. Would highly recommend.

Food was excellent! We had pork escalopes and smoked fish for the main course – absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was overall so cosy: candlelight, live music, and a very welcoming vibe.

The atmosphere of this restaurant was incredible and a real gem. There is entertainment each evening with piano and cello or some variation. it has an intimate and very special ambience. The food is what I would expect from a high end French cuisine. The friut tart was delicieux. The presentation of the food was very elegant. Would highly recommend although it was a bit pricey at 130 pounds for a two course meal with one wine each. If you’re looking for something special it was worth it.

Absolutely fantastic – the food, service and ambience were perfect. The fish soup was heavenly as was the strawberry tart to finish. I could genuinely have been in France. And everything was very reasonably priced. We found this by chance but our next visit will be planned! Wonderful !

The atmosphere is ideal for a date night, with candlelight, live piano, and cosy spaces that make the large restaurant feel intimate. Service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. An excellent choice for couples or small groups..

Enjoyed a delicious business lunch here today. We had pork escalope and the smoked haddock with a scoop of creamy chocolate ice cream to end… we were in a rush otherwise would have chosen one of the tempting desserts. Unusually for me, I didn’t take any snaps but you can see them on other reviews. Its full of character inside, cosy, attentive service and hoping to return soon with more time to enjoy the full 3 courses! And, tucked down the side alleyway, near to historic Charterhouse. Recommend!

Le Café du Marché is truly one of the finest French dining experiences in London. Tucked away in the heart of the city, this charming and intimate restaurant offers an atmosphere that feels both cosy and elegant. The ambience is unbeatable – soft lighting, live jazz music, and a welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger.
The food is exceptional – every dish is crafted with care and full of authentic French flavours. It’s absolutely worth every penny. The service is equally impressive: attentive, friendly, and professional, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a romantic spot or simply a place to indulge in outstanding French cuisine, Le Café du Marché is a must-visit.

I went here for the first time this week and it was amazing. I will definitely be going back! They had live music (bass and piano player) that created a great atmosphere. The lamb was lovely, although I wish I got the beef after tasting that! Oh and the wine of course!

I’d wanted to re-visit this place since my first time back in 2018.
It was always so memorable. It didn’t disappoint!…Food, ambience, service…perhaps just a touch too-fast….but very pleased to have come back.
Food is superb.
