I honestly must say that this was the worst experience I’ve had in a very long time. Most of the food offered on the menu was not available, although when asked the night before if they would be, the owner expressed that the only item that would be unavailable was the roast. After waiting 1.5 hours for our food, we discovered that the restaurant substituted cabbage for the greens we ordered without explanation, and it was burnt. The orders were mixed up, my friend ordered salmon, greens, and macaroni and cheese, and received cabbage, and sweet potatoes as her sides. When the waiter brought out our dishes and was asked where the greens and Mac were, he asked: “Didn’t the owner come out at talk to you?” She had not. There was one issue after the other. The owner offered us free “house punch” that included rum (oh yeah- she doesn’t have a liquor license), yet we never discussed that us receiving these drinks were her way of compensating for all of the other issues that occurred until she was questioned about a discount. Furthermore, my sister received a text from the owner the night before stating “with every entree order a free tasting of any side item would be included”. We asked about tasting the Mac and cheese and spaghetti and we’re ablidged, yet the owner also used it as an escape for discounting the actual meals when disappointment was expressed about the service and food. The owner did not offer a discount and called my sister a “bully” because she expressed her concerns. Furthermore, the owner stated that overall she thought the night went well and she did not think no further accommodations should be made to our bills. I hate that black business owners can’t get it right. I’ll never go back and give them an absolute thumbs down for delivery and service.
Update: the establishment responded to this post with their insincere and untruthful side of the story accusing my family of seeking “free food”, for which certainly is NOT the case. My sister all but begged our family to try out this establishment months ago and had been in conversation with the owner on a few occasions. My sister is very thorough in her investigations when suggesting places for us to try and is a big advocate for supporting black business. The owner reached out to her personally to invite us the night before and my sister even said she would put down a credit card for the reservation, to let the owner know she was serious about us attending, but the owner refused.
Furthermore, in the establishments response, they stated that they refunded my meal, after my sister cried for being attacked by the owners disrespected comment that we were seeking free food.
The owner also stated that she had never had complaints before us in an earlier conversation, yet confessed later that a party of 32 complained about the service and food during another “private event”, and chased her in the bathroom to fight her (now I understand why) Btw.
I still have not received the refund.
Finally, I still stand by initial stance: As a successful business owner myself, I do NOT recommend this establishment. It is over-priced, underwhelming, and the experience was distasteful.

While this is a new establishment, our experience for a table of 6 was wonderful! The staff were pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere was inviting and comforting, with beautiful decor. The food was delicious and plenty. Small and intimate, this is a nice surprise!
