The food is truly the top-notch part of this place. This is one of our favorite dosa spots. While there can occasionally be an off day, last night was excellent. The dosas were fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Both adults and kids enjoyed their meals. Overall, it’s a consistently good, homely food experience that keeps us coming back.

The food and service here is so good!!! The prixe fix on Dosa Night being 16.75 is such a good deal. Two of us ate like 6 dosas split between us, with room for the veg biryani and Gobi Manchurian. I loved it and will definitely go back.

We used to love coming here as a family for meals but with the recent ownership change, it’s no longer the same. We came in yesterday for their weekly dosa night. The food was absolutely terrible. No flavor, very bland. The sambhar and mendu vada were served to us cold. After multiple multiple multiple requests, they gave us chutneys. Service was terrible. They messed up a simple order of ghee dosa many times. Nothing was coordinated properly. It was not a fun experience. We paid so much money and I think I make better South Indian food at home. Then later at night, we all felt that our stomachs were hurting. Lots of pain and now I fear food poisoning. I wouldn’t come back here again. Just not worth it. Please do better.

what a gem!!!! My fam (from Punjab) and I love this place. Outstanding blend of flavors, traditional south Indian cuisine (don’t expect what you’re typically used to, just like traveling in India). The dosas are perfect. Manchurian has that signature S Indian chicken 65 flavor. A bit on the spicy side, if you’re not used to it, go mild or no spice. Medium was the perfect level of hot for us.

This place is super amazing, one of my top five in the valley. The dosa’s and idli are off the charts. In amazing spot for vegetarians. Staff are super friendly. Everything is very clean. Included a pic of a secret menu item called paan, it’s a after meal digestive with wild flavors! I’ll be back.

We came here for the Dosa Nights special and it was SO GOOD. It was my partner’s first time having dosa and they loved it so much. Service was so speedy and all the staff were so hospitable. The food was amazing, tasted just like any dosa from Chennai. My favorite thing about this place was that the serving sizes aren’t insanely huge, which meant we could eat 6 dosas, and still have space for biryani and gobi manchurian – the fact that we got it all for $16.75 per person is just an incredible deal. Will DEFINITELY be coming back!!

I don’t know if the owner is still same or different but food quality is not same as before. I ate gobhi manchurian which is totally burnt and bitter in taste. And as well I ate special rava masala dosa which has no taste in it. They just put raw onions inside without any flavor in it. I got really disappointed. Don’t waste your time and money on bad food.

My girlfriend and I are both vegan, and although we’ve known about Woodlands Vegetarian Cuisine in Chatsworth for years, we had somehow not been there in quite a while before rediscovering it this last year (2025). We’re so glad we did!
For vegans, this place is a dream. There are more than enough clearly marked vegan options to explore without feeling limited or repetitive. Because the menu spans both North and South Indian cuisine, you can enjoy the familiar dishes you’d expect at a great local Indian restaurant and also dive into an impressive variety of dosas.
Although I’ve explored a lot of the menu, my personal favorite is the Thali, which is perfect if, like me, you love a little bit of everything. It offers a spectrum of flavors and textures on one plate, and every bite feels thoughtfully balanced. These folks have truly figured something out when it comes to taste. Everything is deeply flavorful without feeling heavy or overly oily.
Just as important is the atmosphere. The vibe at Woodlands is all about warmth and family, and it genuinely feels like home every time we walk in. I can’t recommend it highly enough to vegans, vegetarians, or anyone looking to experience some of the very best Indian food in Southern California.

This place was definitely hit or miss. Poori/Chole Bature was the highlight of the lunch menu along with Veggie Noodles and Kothu Parotta. Even the manchurian was good but the Special Rava Dosa was way to spicy with chillis excessively being added onto it (even mixed with the actual batter). Unbearable spiciness even with the chutneys that were given with it and the Mango Lassi was way too sour. Portion of the food we ordered seemed stale and old, for example, the raita was spoilt due to the vegetables being added to it and probably sat outside too long, and the Dahi Vada we ordered was also stale tasting and the lime pickle was 100% old. The lime tasted spoilt. We gave feedback to the staff and they took it seriously and also refunded for the dosa so kudos to the staff for that. I would recommend this place regardless due to the staff and the food choices being hit or miss.

The best Indian food in all of Los Angeles! This is our go-to spot whenever we crave authentic South Indian flavors. The new owners are absolutely wonderful—so friendly and welcoming. Every dish tastes fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for genuine South Indian cuisine!
