I really don’t like dumping on a business unless there was something underhanded or mean spirited done by them… But man, this food was just NOT GOOD. Greasy, oily, not fresh at all, just tasted canned, boiled, covered in vague gravy. No hint at all of vegetable crispiness, flavors or texture. Gummy, corporate, gross.
I stopped eating Chinese food because of places like this, and made the move to much more flavorful Thai, Vietnamese or Japanese/Lao restaurants.
But I didn’t want ramen or sushi, I wanted vegetables and I figured with 4.5 stars, maybe this place could do a decent stir fry. Nope. Avoid at all costs. The food at Panda Express is significantly better. That should tell you all you need to know.
We ordered two entrées, and I made sure to clearly repeat the order. The waiter even confirmed it and asked whether I wanted white meat or dark meat. However, only one entrée ever came out. Drink refills took a long time, and the service felt inattentive throughout the night.
When we finally asked for the bill, I had to remind the waiter that the second entrée never arrived. By that point, it was too late. I went in hungry and left hungry and extremely frustrated.
Unfortunately, this particular waiter has consistently provided poor service during past visits, and tonight was the worst experience yet. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because we genuinely enjoy the food and would like to continue supporting this restaurant — but service like this makes it difficult.
we had to wait 20+ minutes for anyone to actually come to our table to take drink/app orders. They were nice but tried walking off before I could tell them about wanting appetizers. My kids got the wonton soup. It was barely lukewarm at best. Its like they dumped a carton of boxed broth into a bowl and thawed out wontons. The “soup” dumplings finally came out… without soup in them. The only liquid that came out was the condensation from being in the box. The outside was a bit chewy, inside was good. But it was like they had been sitting in a warmer for so long, they looked shriveled an smaller than other places, especially for the money. Food came out, everything was lukewarm at best. They put a side of broccoli on my plate, it was straight up cold. As if it was sitting in a chilled container and they dumped it onto my plate. I couldn’t even eat it. Rice was okay. Kids liked theirs. The waitress kept apologizing about everything taking so long to come out which I can understand.. but why is our food coming out cold/lukewarm for that price tag. I would have been just fine eating my store-bought Asian foods in the freezer and saved the money for where I really wanted to go.
Our waiter, Edward, handled it well and allowed us to select another dish. He was professional and way too crazy busy. He seemed to be the only waiter.
We chose the Szechuan beef as the replacement dish. They put green beans in it, and both my husband and I thought that flavor distracted from the dish. This was an example of working too hard to be “fusion”. The tang was good but the meat was so big it needed to be cut into bite sized pieces, which was impossible with a fork as it was too chewy. They didn’t provide a knife. We ate it so we gave it a 2 star rating. We won’t go back unfortunately.
Oh, although not pictured, we also ordered pork dumplings. They were good, but we felt like the steamed version of the dumplings was too thick and gummy.
