Really enjoyed the cocktails here—creative names like A Kiss Goodbye and Feeling Clever, well made, and noticeably stronger than average.
For food, small plates are mixed. The bhel puri is very crispy and interesting, though it becomes quite sour after a while. The fried eggplant is nicely done with a good sauce, but the portion is small. The coconut sambol was disappointing in both flavor and quantity.
The highlight was the lamb shank—crispy on the outside, tender but not overly soft inside, with great texture and no gaminess. One of the better lamb dishes I’ve had in Seattle. That said, the portion is smaller than expected for a dish labeled for two, so plan to order additional items.

The food was good. I would recommend just small plates though large plates took a lot longer to prepare and did not scale compared to the price increase. The number of vegetarian options is truly appreciated. It does feel expensive for what it is.
3 small plates 2 large plates and 2 cocktails came out to $115 and we definitely could have eaten a lot more.

we showed up to a packed house but there was one table left on their heated patio. it was fine for 50°, but any coupler would not be pleasant.
the staff are great and so are the drinks. you can tell they put a lot of care in the drinks they make. i will come back for just drinks next time!
the food not as great. the naan was cracker-like, dahl curry could have used more salt, but the kerala fried chicken was joust and the aoli was addictive.
they add a 22% service charge, and it’s unclear whether it goes toward a living wage or is simply meant to avoid raising menu prices even further. Am I still expected to tip on top of that???

What a great breath of fresh spiced air! We’ve been looking for a new place for so long since the COVID pandemic and Rupee Bar did not disappoint. From the drinks to the food, the warm and bright service, and the cozy and creative atmosphere, we can’t say enough about this place. For drinks, I ordered the Indian tonic and my wife ordered the Rupee Spritz, both delightful ways to get us teed up for the appetizers and main dish: we ordered the kale dish, the naan & dhal, the Kerala fried chicken and the lamb curry. As my wife exclaimed, “It was a party in my mouth!” A flavorful festival of food indeed. Definitely can’t wait to go back and recommend Rupee Bar highly to any one who has a hankering for diverse flavor profiles and has a palate for distinct yet fun pairings. Thank you Rupee Bar!

Great place for Tapas! Loved every dish we ordered. We got the naan and the curry right below on the menu. Both were light and not oily or heavy. The chicken was great, a tiny bit salty but great texture and flavor. The shrimp was good, had a good taste to it. The cod was my favorite and would order it next time. I would come back.

Frankly the food didn’t feel worth it. Most of the stuff had so much lemon juice in it, making it extremely tangy for no reason. Drinks especially the king coconut was amazing, so definitely try that . The server was also super disrespectful and disreceptive to the feedback

Went for dinner. The food was small plates and shareable. The naan and dhal were very authentic, bhel puri was tasty, blistered corn was really good, whipped paneer was interesting and good, chat was pretty good, mutton role was fireee esp with the chutney, and fried chicken was juicy. I don’t like prawn but it was pretty good in the curry. Overall really good and def would come back.

What a gem. There’s usually a wait but it’s worth it. Love a place with less than 15 items on the menu that just does everything really well – everything we ordered was delicious, super flavorful, unique, and cooked to perfection. Three of us sat and ate at the bar and enjoyed roughly 7 dishes and were pleasantly stuffed. The cocktails are also high quality and there some very interesting N/A options beyond soft drinks which I appreciate. This is a Seattle must-try!

Had dinner on a Tuesday night, it was fairly busy. I sat at the bar while waiting for my party to arrive where I tried some of their drinks, Thin Ice and Curry leaf Gimlet. They were delicious, very well balanced, refreshing. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. When my friends arrived we sat outdoors with a heater. Food was surprisingly good! My favorite was their fried chicken (always have it in the menu, but just know I was informed they do change other dishes fairly often) and I am not a fan of regular fried chicken. This one was just a bit crisp and had a lot of flavor. They use a lot of spices but in a balanced manner where it is delicious and not overpowering. We also had their Kale salad, Brussel sprouts, rice, potatoes and other chicken. Everything delicious. Everyone else
Got other drinks, (I tried them all) they were just as good. I don’t live in Seattle and I want to come back. Truly great.
