Wow just Wow is how I will start this review. We have lived in the Knoxville area for 3 years now and oh how I wish we would have found this before now.

With the name being Poke Bowl this restaurant is a real sleeper. And while I’m sure their poke bowls are amazing the Genius behind the sushi counter, Patrick is what makes this restaurant truly amazing.

There were 3 of us who arrived early on a Friday evening. There was just 2-3 people eating at tables. We sat at the Sushi counter. We were greeted by Micheal and 2 other associates who promptly took our drink orders and brought them out.

My son ordered a bowl of chicken ramen. It was loaded and full of flavor with just a hint of spice. The chicken was tender and the broth was fantastic.

The Sushi menu is impressive and come to find out they had several other off menu fresh fish options that had just come in. Just inquire with the sushi chef.

We started with a couple rolls that Micheal fixed up for us before Patrick took his spot. I could tell this was going to be good.

Next we had the crispy rice tuna (pictured). The presentation was fantastic and flavors/textures was just what I was hoping for.

In steps sushi chef Patrick and now is when the Real show starts. He made several other rolls for us including the Harden Valley Roll with Toro (pictured) and a Quail Egg, Real Wasabi, soy sauce (pictured)that was out of this world.

The quality of food, the artistry in presentation, the genuine hospitality by everyone in the restaurant was way beyond expectations!

If you want a Real sushi experience, this is the place in Knoxville you need to go to. If it wasn’t a 45 min drive away from the house, I’m certain that I would be there weekly. Go support this restaurant. It’s phenomenal!

Tomo Poke Bowl is the poke bowl standard in Knoxville—been eating here since they opened, and they kept me well fed and sane during COVID.

Every visit is the same in the best way: fresh ingredients, bold flavors, solid portions, and zero disappointment. You know that feeling when you open the bowl and everything looks crisp, colorful, and made with care? That’s always the vibe here.

And when they added ramen… whew. Instant comfort food upgrade.
Also, let me save you time: get the soy pickled egg. It’s not optional. It’s a life choice.

If you’re looking for a poke place that’s consistently amazing, this is it.
100/100 — Knoxville’s best, no contest.

My daughter and I were craving Ramen… She’s an anime lover and loves Naruto and if you look at the picture with the spoon, it shows Naruto ingredient… Naruto is her favorite character and his name is after this ingredient. It was delicious. I ordered the seafood Ramen and it was excellent.

The food was unreal! Maiko is an artist with the sushi! Legit walked in and he asked us what we like and made us rolls from what we liked surprised us in the best ways. He was also so friendly and kind. The place itself was so nice too. Perfect date night on the wife and I.

This is hands down my favorite poke and sushi place in the Knoxville area. Patrick and Jamie always make us feel welcome when we come in. The fish they use here I was told he’s been using the same vendor for 20 years and it shows in the quality when you’re eating here. From the basics of rice to the exotics of fish and everything in between it’s all fresh like it came in the same day. He uses real chunks of wasabi that I’ve never had before and I got to try fish I have never had before here tonight as well. They have a phenomenal beer that is imported from laos that is highly recommended that adds a twist of taste with your meal you’ve never had before. Patrick’s vibe is the perfect omakase when he’s serving you food at the sushi bar. His plates are done so eloquently and you can tell he takes pride in what he does it’s quite the show watching him plate everything.

Michael the sushi chef rocked our world! We got three different rolls and gyoza and it was all amazing. We asked for him to just make us something and the roll he surprised us with was incredible! We want to come back and try to ramen and poke bowls too. We were surprised no one was there. I don’t know if people just don’t know Tomo exists, but we will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend!

Tomo is not just a restaurant. It’s a spiritual experience. We walked in expecting a quiet normal dinner. What we got was Patrick…owner, chef, host, possibly part-time therapist. Emerging from the kitchen like a sushi wizard. There was no need for a menu. You just need Patrick nodding and saying “Don’t worry. I got you.”

He made the sushi right in front of us like some kind of culinary Jedi. The fish was so fresh I swear one of the nigiri flinched. The rolls? Crisp, creative, and possibly illegal in five states for how good they were.

Between courses Patrick told us story’s of traveling and life while I was inhaling a spicy tuna roll that tasted like it was blessed by Poseidon himself.

In short: Tomo is incredible. Patrick is a legend. And I will follow that man into battle or at least back into his restaurant for more sushi.

I had read a review of Tomo Poke Bowl and knew that we had to venture to Hardin Valley to try it.
The reviews didn’t do it justice. Although a little tricky to “find”, once we did, we were so warmly greeted by Patrick with, “first time here?” “Do you like sushi ~ come sit at the sushi bar.” We did and had a fabulous time. We didn’t order off the menu directly, but we were served some fabulous handpicked specialties.
The place is clean and welcoming. When you go, ask for Patrick’s special wasabi – so yummy !
