OVERALL RATING 7/10
I have been told by several people that I should try out Baldarotta’s.
Here is my review:
The location of this quaint little restaurant is off on a quiet side road. If you didn’t know what you were looking for, you will miss it. This restaurant is the definition of a “hole in the wall”; but let me tell you, this restaurant is a “diamond in the rough”. Walking up to the restaurant, I noticed that there is outdoor seating with several patio furnishings. Upon entering, there is hip-hop music playing with approximately 15 tables at the entrance and additional seating in a private room. Speaking of seating, there is a theme to the restaurant tables and seating where they are all different. As an example, you can be at one table, but have four different type chairs at the table. The place has an excellent vibe of character that makes its presence known immediately upon entering. The tables were all clean and the bathrooms are quite large and girls have several stalls. There is no large menu board; rather there are paper menus next to the register. As far as the food; we had the Baldarotta, Goddfella, and Porketta Fries. The food was absolutely amazing. It took 7 minutes for the Porketta fries and an additional 7-10 minutes for our sandwiches. That being said, it is definitely worth the wait. I would definitely say these are gourmet sandwiches. My summary is this: there is no upscale location or fancy advertising for this restaurant. There doesn’t need to be. This is a place that “If ya know; ya know” type restaurant. Fantastic food and great environment. As always, I have several photos for your review and our receipt.

If you come to Champaign-Urbana you have to stop in at Baldarotta’s Porketta & Sicilian Sausage. The food was amazing and locally produced. I had the Baldarotta sub with a Hand made key lime cannoli.

Good soups and sandwiches priced reasonably for the quality. Lunch deal includes soup and half sandwich (as big as a typical sandwich elsewhere) for $12.

Free parking at back of building.

Not only the best Italian beef I’ve ever had but quite possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Super nice owners. Cool space.

We ordered this for a lunch for the office of Tilton Family Medical on Wednesday. We were blown away by the taste was amazing 5 stars alone for that. You can really taste the love put into each bite. I found this spot on a random search im happy I made the right choice to order from here. Plus if you ever get bored the comments on here are super funny I was just reading some of the bad reviews and the owner definitely has some fight in her. Definitely a good read. Don’t let people choose for you always support local stores they are the back bone of the community. I for sure will be ordering from here again either it be a lunch for the office or dinner with the wife. Keep up the amazing job. You guys gained a fan today.

The sandwiches are loaded with heavenly goodness and drenched in god-tier deliciousness. Try the porketta. Try the chicken parm. Try the cannoli. Try it all. The food will defeat your hangry attitude and restore your life bar for sure.

First time here, not from the area & it took a bit to figure out where to park – in back. We each had different sandwiches, 1 chips, 2 drinks: $41. Both were signature sandwiches & both were very good. Drinks are can/bottle from the cooler so no refills. Overall, the food outweighed the negatives for 5 stars.

Baldarotta’s have the best sandwiches in town. I’ve been frequenting here for the past 5 months and am not ashamed to say that I have almost tried everything on the menu. It simply is chef’s kiss.

They make hot and cold sandwiches with the main difference being that the hot sandwiches turn out greasy due to the juiciness and fat of the meats. Their meats are really tender and super moist, which easily gets absorbed into the bread. So if eating messy is not your thing, then go with the cold sandwiches. I prefer the cold over hot myself, but there’s no wrong choice here when it comes to taste. My favorites are the Caprese, Salami & Artichoke, Turkey Pesto, and Brisket Sandwich.

The staff is always friendly and prepare the food with care. Keep up the amazing work!

Super yummy! The cold cut classic was a great and flavorful sandwich. My friends also enjoyed the parmesan chicken sandwich. The pickles were a nice touch but a little more sour than some expected.

The food was wonderful and filling! Absolutely recommend! The lemon-pecorino fries were spot-on and the Basil-pesto tortellini is one of my favorites! My husband and I shared a porketta, a sicilian sausage, the tortellini, the fries, a coke. We also had a coupon! We had food left over to take home! So, good!
