This restaurant has a very nice and comfortable atmosphere that really makes you enjoy the whole dining experience.

The food is excellent — they offer authentic Chinese dishes, as well as some creative fusion options that balance well with Western flavors. Everything we tried was delicious and well prepared.

Definitely a great new spot and highly recommended. I’ll be coming back for sure.

The dining environment here has a strong Chinese vibe—understated yet upscale. The lighting is soft, the space is clean and comfortable, and the decor details are thoughtfully done. It feels elegant and refined without being over the top. Dining here is genuinely relaxing and enjoyable, and it’s also very photo-friendly—one of those beautiful places that makes you want to take your time, eat slowly, and chat.

The food came out incredibly fast—dish after dish—and everything was hot, delicious, and consistently good!

✅ Soup Dumplings: Thin wrappers with plenty of soup—one bite and it bursts with juice. Perfect with a little vinegar.
✅ Salted Egg Yolk Corn: Generously coated in salted egg yolk—crispy, savory, and totally addictive.
✅ Stir-Fried Beef (mild): A touch of chili aroma but not really spicy. Great garlic fragrance and wok hei—so flavorful and perfect with rice.
✅ House Signature Chow Mein (Egg · Shrimp · Vegetables): Super fragrant but not greasy; bouncy shrimp and refreshing veggies—so easy to keep eating.
✅ Yangzhou Fried Rice: Each grain is distinct with a strong egg aroma. Great portions of ingredients, clean and not heavy.
✅ Dry-Fried String Beans: Slightly wrinkled with a toasty sear, well-seasoned and savory—amazing with rice.

This restaurant is located inside ROW DTLA and is fairly new—I believe it opened around December. Although it’s a Chinese restaurant, the atmosphere and interior are very modern, with beautiful lighting that really sets the mood. The prices are not cheap, and the portions are not very large, but the experience feels more like a fine-dining restaurant with a Chinese fusion twist.
You can really tell the chef’s skill in each dish. The food reflects a creative blend of traditional Chinese cuisine with subtle Western influences, and I was genuinely impressed by the flavors and execution during my visit. ROW DTLA also offers two hours of free parking, which is a big plus, and the overall outdoor atmosphere of the area is fantastic.
If you’re a couple looking for a stylish place with great ambiance and thoughtfully crafted food, this is a spot I would definitely recommend checking out.

A beautiful new addition to the neighborhood

From the moment you walk in, the space feels calm, elegant, and thoughtfully designed — warm lighting, clean lines, and a perfect balance between modern and traditional elements. It’s the kind of place where you instantly want to slow down and enjoy the experience.

The food was excellent. The fried dishes were light and crispy without feeling heavy, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. You can really tell that a lot of care went into both the ingredients and the execution.

Service was warm and attentive without being intrusive, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable.

This is a place I’d happily come back to — great food, great atmosphere, and a space that feels genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend.

Very enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant features a classic Chinese-style interior, and you can really tell the owner has distinctive taste. The food was also excellent—the owner insists on refusing all pre-prepared dishes, which made us, as diners, genuinely feel the sincerity.

The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was well balanced and satisfying. The overall vibe is classy without being stiff, and the service made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Definitely a place I’d be happy to come back to and recommend to others.

I went to the ROW for some shopping and discovered this newly opened restaurant. Honestly, I didn’t expect much from a Chinese restaurant in a fashion district—but it completely surprised me!

The interior design is a modern, fashionable take on Chinese style. I loved sitting there and took as many pictures as I could. And the food—sooooo good. I spent years in Northern China, and I can confidently say this is the most authentic crispy sweet-and-sour pork I’ve had in LA.

I’d also highly recommend the wasabi shrimp, salted egg yolk wings, dry-fried string beans, and the Chongqing crispy chili chicken (if you love spicy food). For dessert, definitely try the crispy fried milk—it sounds crazy, but it’s really delicious.

Had a great experience at Karson!
The dishes are beautifully plated, made with fresh ingredients, and taste natural with no artificial or “techy” flavors. Food came out fast, service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was clean and relaxing. Definitely a place worth coming back to. Ps: the vibe is pretty “New York “

Found my new favorite neighborhood spot. It has such a warm, inviting atmosphere—dim lighting, comfortable seating, and that ‘hidden gem’ feel. It’s cozy without being cramped.
The staff makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. Don’t miss the Mapo Tofu or the handmade dumplings. It’s the perfect place to decompress after a long week with some seriously good comfort food.
