This place was amazing and has a great outdoor seating area. I ordered the avocado toast and lobster Benedict with coffee and orange juice which was made to order and excellent. Joah was our waiter and was super attentive and great to talk to. I would definitely come back!

I hate having to write a review like this for a restaurant I was so excited to try, but I can’t not say anything about it.

For context, I have severe allergies and when looking for restaurants I have to extensively check the menus to ensure I’ll be able to eat there safely.

I had a reservation here for NYE and we were excited to try the food and the drinks. Upon arrival, we found out they had a special NYE menu, 3 courses for $60 per person, only a few set options (which didn’t include the things I had pre checked for myself given my allergies). This menu wasn’t posted on the website at all, or on open table (where I made my reservation) At this point we should’ve gotten up and left, but given it was NYE we decided to stay and try and make the best of it.

Unfortunately, our table service was extremely poor. Our server was Joah who started great, trying to help me understand what I could eat, and that’s where it ended. We dined for over 2.5 hours. In no way should this meal have taken this long because we didn’t even eat our 3rd course in the restaurant, we asked to take it to go once since we had somewhere to be and were already extremely late. The table next to us (also a party of 2 with a different server) sat down about 30 mins after us and were up and out of the restaurant having finished all 3 of their courses before we even got our 2nd course plates cleared. During the meal, we went 45 minutes with no water because I couldn’t get his attention, to the point of having to ask another server to get us water. Every other table had bottles of water on their tables, but we did not. Other tables were also offered sharp knives for their meat dishes, but we did not get that offered to us. We saw Joah only a few times throughout the night. He greeted us and brought us water (which took 15 mins to do) we placed our orders, he brought us the martini tree, and lastly when we asked for the desserts course to go and for the check (we had to wave him down and got another servers attention before Joah’s). Our first two courses were brought to us by management? and bartenders and the meat course was cold when it arrived at our table. He never checked to ask if everything was okay or we needed anything, like water or drinks.

The best part of the night was the espresso martini tree which was absolutely delicious, and the bartenders were very nice.

As someone who works in the service industry, I truly get that restaurants can be busy and stuff happens in the kitchen out of your control, but that needs to be communicated with your table. I have no idea why my partner and I received this level of service when he appeared extremely attentive to rest of his tables, but it’s extremely disappointing. To have paid $200 for a meal and experience we didn’t get to enjoy at all, was truly a waste of money and time.

Brunch was great here!! Everything was decently priced, not too expensive which was a nice surprise. Drinks were super good, I ended up having 2 bloody Mary’s! Ambiance was nice and relaxed and upbeat, without being loud and overwhelming. Service was very attentive!

For the meals we got the breakfast tacos. They were really good and had nice flavor. Also split some parm truffle fries! They also do a bottle of champagne for mimosas with choose of juices.

I saw so much hype surrounding this restaurant and honestly it was so disappointing. The two main complaints that my party had with the restaurant were the cleanliness and service.

Starting with the cleanliness: The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice. It was a very influencer friendly establishment. The food and drinks were very visually pleasing and tasted well, if anything a bit salty. Our issue was with the water pitchers that are used in the restaurant. Our server left a pitcher of water on the table when we requested refills on water (we will be returning to this later) and when we looked at the bottle closely there was clear and obvious signs of mold on the bottle’s silicone stopper. When we saw this we asked for a new bottle, and the bottle we received had the marks as well, just not as clearly.

The service was awful: Our server was Valentina. She did not seem very happy to be serving out table. Almost everyone at the table has worked in food service or is currently working in food service. We all understood that sometimes you have off days, we’re all human. With that in mind, we were all appalled by her service. She was slamming thing on the table and on top of our things. She did not return to the table to the point that during most of our time in the restaurant our drinks were empty, and we had to flag her down to get refills on the waters. I do not believe she was supposed to leave the water pitchers on the table, but because she did not want to pour the water she slammed it on our table and walked off and that is when we noticed the mold. She also snatched a menu off the table so hard that silverware and a napkin flew off of it and she just walked away without saying anything. She also did not card anyone at the table ordering alcohol (I promise most of us did not look over 40). When we would look over she was sitting at the host stand on her phone.

We did speak to the manager about these things but it presented more issues. The manager stated that their water pitchers are only sanitized three times a week. That is disgusting. If they are leaving these pitchers at tables with customers they need to be sanitized after each use. At minimum they should be sanitized daily, and that is also extremely generous. As soon as the words left his mouth my stomach dropped. I would expect more from a place charging $30 a plate.

As for our POOR service, he said that it was a good teaching moment for his server. I would say that if she treats people that poorly, there is no teaching someone to be kind at her big age. He also informed us that two of their servers called out, but honestly that was the emptiest dining room ever, there were maybe 25 people in there and at least 6 of those people were seated at the bar.

I love trying new restaurants in the Tampa area and experiencing the city I am a fourth generation resident of. I love to see this city and community thrive by supporting locally owned business. With that being said I don’t think I ever want to go back to Rome & Fig and anything with the same owners. I would not recommend this to anyone looking to have an all around pleasant dining experience. If you want to take cutesy pictures for your Instagram, this may be the place for you (but there are so many better options).

First experience at Rome + Fig and we were quite pleased. I ordered the avocado toast that was mentioned in several reviews, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. It was absolutely delicious. Seasoned perfectly. I am an avocado toast connoisseur, and this, with the eggs over easy and minus the bacon (for a pescatarian), was perfect! My partner had the short rib French dip and enjoyed it. Service by Imani was wonderful. She had a smile that was present our entire visit and was very. Food came out hot and pretty quickly given how busy they were! Everything about our experience was perfect. The patio seating option also has fans making it a doable choice even with the hot weather!

We went for dinner and were able to get a last-minute reservation, which was a plus. Given all the hype, we had high expectations, but the experience turned out to be fairly average.

Service was noticeably slow, which affected the overall experience. We ordered the chicken satay, lobster and shrimp linguine, pesto pasta, and beef tenderloin. While nothing was particularly bad, the food didn’t stand out either.. everything was just okay.

Overall, it was a decent outing, but not something we’d rush back for.

This restaurant is one of my favorite places to have breakfast in Tampa. Service has always been wonderful. Shout out to Yidania! They have an avocado toast that I actually look forward to eating and all the other food and drinks that we have had. There has been really good as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor patio is dog friendly. Really cool I’ll be inside and they have featured artwork in the restaurant that you can buy that is very reasonably priced. before you, Karen, walking on sunshine, and Fuego Maria are my three favorite drinks here. Apparently the espresso martini is good too for those of you who like that sort of thing.

Had the Fried Tomato Caprese, lobster and shrimp linguine and ended with the Espresso Brownie Sundae with a Cappuccino. Husband had Braised Short Ribs. Everything was delicious. Good portions. I had to get a box for half the pasta because it was so filling. I split the dessert with my husband. It was a good portion and loved the caramel on it. Great setting. can eat outside or inside. Decor/ambience is great. Our server, Imani, was the best! Highly recommend her.

Had a great lunch here. Went on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 and was able to get seated right away. Had the half order of Asian wings and they were fantastic, the sauce had a nice tang to it and wasn’t overly spicy or sweet. I had the meatball sub and it was good. The meat was moist and nicely seasoned. My wife had the short rib French dip and it was amazing. It was by far the best thing we had. Nice vibe in the restaurant. Would definitely return.

Today was Gasparilla and it was cold. Several people trying to get out of the cold. Truffle fries were great. The Lomo Saltado was boring. The service was not great. We started out with brunch menus but were there for dinner. I tried to order a mixed drink from that menu but she just did not respond. The fig and flower was too sour. For the price point I was highly disappointed. They charge 4% for using a credit card but who doesn’t anymore! Crap!!!
