The food? Outstanding. Every dish is bursting with flavor and clearly made with fresh, high quality ingredients. You can tell real care and passion goes into the cooking. Portions are generous, presentation is beautiful, and everything tastes just as good as it looks.
Will be going back again!!!
We arrived slightly early on a Friday night and noticed the restaurant was fairly empty. We were greeted promptly, seated right away, and our waitress took our drink order (horchata and a cantaloupe drink), followed by our food order. So far, so good.
When the drinks arrived, the horchata looked unusually clear. After tasting it, it came across as very watery and bland almost like powered watery milk. My wife tried it as well and had the same reaction. I set it aside and waited for our server to come back.
When she returned with our food, I asked to replace my drink with a Dr. Pepper. I ordered the quesabirria. The food was okay nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The flavors didn’t really stand out, and the cheese in the quesabirria overpowered the meat instead of complementing it along with the broth I dipped it in.
The Dr. Pepper arrived, but unfortunately it was completely flat with no carbonation. Both my wife and I tried it and confirmed there were no bubbles at all. At that point, we decided to ask for the check, ate what we could, tipped for the service, and left.
Overall, the experience didn’t live up to the expectations.
It’s sad to say but you know it’s not good when you’re one of the few Mexicans in the restaurant. Between the drink issues and average food, it’s not somewhere I’d go out of my way to return too anytime soon.
I ordered the ACP deluxe without tomatoes and it was some of the tastiest grilled chicken I’ve found at a Mexican restaurant. My bestie told me the servings were large and boy was she right!! I ate what seemed like half of my meal but I brought home enough for 2 more days! The rice underneath had great flavor with the cheese all mixed in. I usually get cheese dip for my chips but I wanted to save belly space for my entree and entree only. And after seeing just how LARGE the serving was, for once in my life, I was happy to go without a beginner. One of our Jeepers ordered it and we were all commenting on how large it was. I swear all that cheese could fit into my 2 qt saucepan!
All in all a successful first visit. So much so that I will be back with hubby because there were so many other entrees that I want to try. Not to mention I missed out on fried ice cream and the yummy sounding mixed drinks (I drove bestie & I down here so no drinking for me. Hence the next visit hubby will be my driver) which means will be back and hungry.
This was good. Staff was amazing and around when we needed them. Absolutely no complaints for the taste of the food! Certainly would like to come back. Only issue was the music… poor choice. Some songs are not appropriate for children.
The waitress was good- since it was busy, she understandably was only able to check on us once. Food came out at a fair pace, considering the place was packed, probably 35- 40 minutes… waited 25+ minutes for the appetizer of jalapeño poppers. My husband said his plate was excellent, burrito Jalisco.
I ordered enchiladas Jalisco. The sauce was very flavorful, and if the tasty stewed pork wasn’t on there, I would’ve returned the dish and asked for something else. I could taste the cheese inside my enchiladas were a distinct flavor of American cheese, it was disgusting and nearly inedible. Every Mexican restaurant I go to, 99% of the time I get cheese enchiladas, I know what the filling is supposed to taste like. It 100% was American cheese, it wasn’t even melted like a classic Mexican type cheese would be. I would like to give it another try, but hesitant because I don’t want to get served the same mistake.
