We make the best pies in Seattle by using European-style butter and fresh, Washington produce. You can also find us at the University District Farmers on Saturdays or the Ballard Farmers Market on Sundays. Even better, join our Pie Club and we’ll deliver pies straight to your doorstep!

Beautiful and quiet bakery cafe specializing in sweet and savory pies, quiches, and similar pastries! The space felt very airy, elegant, yet warm and inviting with light pink and brown accents, about 5 tables inside. Chicken pot pies start at $18+, quiche slice was $8, and pie slices were around $6+.
The vegetarian quiche I got was excellent – pretty close to what I’ve had in Europe. Just the right amount of savory cream, salt, balanced with crumb. Highly recommend.
Restrooms were also clean.
Will be back!

Good pie! I’ve tried a handful of flavors at the farmers market over the years, but I decided to stop into their brick & mortar store for the full experience.
My favorites are the chicken pot pie, horchata Chess, passionfruit Meringue, and chocolate Bourbon Pecan. The chicken pot pie should be reheated in the oven for the best results.
I was a little disappointed at their selection shortly after opening on a Thursday. Their quiche wouldn’t be ready for another hour and a half, they didn’t have any whipped cream available, and there were no pocket pies or icebox pies that I could see. It still feels like their physical store is a bit of an afterthought. Even the majority of the space was being used to organize pies that were going out for delivery, rather than available seating for customers.
They could definitely work on offering their full menu and prioritizing seating space, but the pies are delicious!

YUM! Pie Bird is such a cute spot, has ultra friendly service, and some of the best pies around. They have great options for sweet, tart, and savory, and the rotating flavors are always a fun delicious surprise!
My last time here I got 6 slices for myself, my daughter and my husband to sample. Husband’s direct quote was, “6 out of 6, not a single miss.” Toddler’s quote was “mas please mama!” (she’s learning Spanish). And my mom who stopped by and had a nibble of each piece as well said, “oooh, these are all so delicious!”
You can tell these are made with care and love. The crust is a thick, flaky delight. The fillings are plentiful and flavorful. You are greeted as a friend when you walk in. The slices are solid and fair. And the prices are right. 10/10 would recommend. Plus who doesn’t love and want to support a local, woman owned, small (delightful) business?!

Cannot recommend this place enough. The passion fruit meringue pie had was the best pie I’ve ever had in my life. The interior is cozy, the people are friendly, and obviously the pies are a 10 out of 10 when it comes to deliciousness. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, or even making a trip out of it.

Great pie and friendly service. We split a number of pies amongst friends to sample a lot of flavors: banana cream, chocolate bourbon pecan, sour cherry, and passion fruit meringue. All of them were delicious, and the crowd favorite was the passion fruit meringue pie. The atmosphere is bright and open, and it’s fun to see the bakers at work through the large glass windows in the back.

I’m happy to see Pie Bird get their own brick and mortar. I’d never actually tried the pies at the farmers markets, but happened to be in the area. It’s a nice space – I don’t know how much renovation they had to do when Pie Bar left, but it’s a bright and clean space. Both the chocolate bourbon pecan pie and coconut custard pie slices were excellent. I would recommend trying Pie Bird wholeheartedly!

I had the chocolate bourbon pecan pie – it is delicious and I can’t wait to go back and have it again. It is seriously that good!
The shop is adorable and a great stop after eating dinner in Ballard.

Delicious and lovely. I would order pie for a special occasion or come with a friend to enjoy a slice. Cute atmosphere. Pies and treats have good flavor and texture. I got 2 slices and 1 individual pie (more like a pie pocket type thing). Black/Blueberry was the best!!!

Pie bird is awesome!!! I’m obsessed with the aesthetic inside- beautiful interiors with a nod to Scandinavian style. And sweet details like how the pie is served on antique floral plates. Then there is the pie itself …. YUM. we tried 4 types – banana cream: fresh banana flavor, pillowy cream, lightly spiced. passion fruit meringue: tart and sweet, incredible passion fruit flavor. Chocolate bourbon pecan: rich and decadent. Sour cherry: beautiful flaky crust, gooey tart cherries, excellent.
Extra perk- They had a toy basket for our two year old!

The pocket pies from pie bird were always my favorite thing at the Ballard farmer’s market and I was thrilled when they opened a store. The crust is phenomenal- if you have a friend who obsessively tests recipes and spent a few years perfecting pie crust- it tastes like that. Just picked up a root vegetable ricotta quiche and it was delicious. They often sell out, so go early if you want a selection, but whatever you get is going to be good.
