I have been here several times, but recently it has become less Texas dance hall and more Nashville dance hall. A LOT of line dances. I love a good line dance but this is excessive and leaves little time for two steps. The songs that do play for partner dances are not ideal as well. Very disappointing. Fun if you only want to line dance to random songs, but if you want to dance with your partner or dance with others go to Rowdy’s. Definitely feeling like “play country something” while here tonight…

Watch out for BPD!!!
Let me preface this: I am 50+ yrs old (and was dressed very modestly. I was not dressed to “go out” that night.
I got in my car to call a friend to come pick us up. I was yanked out of my car – the person I was on the phone with heard the commotion and had no idea what was happening.
I walked straight out the door to my car, no interaction with anyone.
I was arrested and charged PI. It was closing time. Yes, I was very drunk, but I was responsibly calling for a ride. They didn’t let me turn my car off. They didn’t let me get my phone or my purse. Taken to PD with no phone to call for a ride in the morning.
I’ve been before when a lady was so drunk she couldn’t stand up or keep her eyes open. The BPD on duty called an Uber to make sure she made it home safely.
The only reason I was picked up the next day was because the tow truck driver heard my son calling many times and leaving messages (hmmm. How did he hear that?)
I had no phone to call anyone.

I’ve been a quite a few times since the very degrading “permanent ban” that the short bald guy felt the need to place on me and honestly, this place just gets worse every year. The employees become less and less competent, the prices are so much higher than many, many better bars in the closer Houston area and that distinctive sweat smell seems to never fade from this place. Not to mention the police swarm around, always waiting around to give out DUI/DWI like Halloween candy. I believe you should treat all customers with respect, not just the ones you happen to know or like. If being called slurs and other things by the man in management on my first trip whilst sober didn’t give me a reason to never come back, the lack of normal bar movement is why that is now.

Charged a $30 cover per person. Then was charged $46 for 1 beer, 1 single tall vodka and sprite and two shots of jagerbomb. Never received a receipt. Called to discuss charges with manager and she said she’d call me back and never returned my call. Will not be back. Will not recommend.

When to the chute about a week ago and had so much fun. Great music and amazing atmosphere. Your typical hole in the wall saloon style. Big dance food to spin you Sissy around all night. The staff is all helpful and always there to bring you a drink. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be going back.

I love this place, but it’s going down fast! They don’t enforce the dress code, too many people old and young showing up in Tshirts and sneakers for dances.

The Chute has been upgraded, I give it a 10/10. If there was more stars I’d put them. Drinks were top tier, very fast and quick service. Vibe was great and their live music taste is chefs kiss.
