I am very disappointed in the service of Burger King on McLean in Elgin. I went for lunch today on Wednesday December 17. I bought two SpongeBob meals for $32, when placing my order they said they hadn’t the topping for the drink, i reluctantly accepted this. After paying and waiting I was then told they also did not have the pies which is the only reason I wanted the meals. The African American man at the window really seemed to care. He said the GM refused to allow him to mark the item out of stock. I called back and Angie, the GM seemed not to care about customer service if I didn’t speak Spanish, I’m not very understanding as to what matters if I speak Spanish. I did not want this meal, I literally only wanted the pies. She say I can only get a refund for the pies. The black dude at the window should be the GM and Angie should get a job at a factory bc she has no customer service skills. I am very unlikely to return to this location, EVER And I will be spreading the word about the lack of customer service. You would think that Burger King would be doing everything they can to retain customers because most people don’t like the place very much anymore and now I understand why. I’m not certain whether this is false advertising or bait and switch but it is complete nonsense. There is a digital reader board that can be updated. If you don’t have a menu item 86 it off the menu. I’d love to hear from someone about this because we were very disappointed. $32 is touching on sit down restaurant pricing.

Manager couldn’t give me my money back because it was a mobile order. Maybe if he had been paying attention to the product that was being given out instead on a phone call on his AirPods he would have fought it

I don’t write bad reviews for places, one because I could care less, two why waste my time? And three if I don’t frequent a place how could I give an honest assessment of the establishment and its employees? That day could just be a bad day for the employee or the whole place in general. Seeing as I do frequent this location, I can feel confident in leaving such a Bad review. Nothing wrong with this establishment during the nighttime seeing as the employees who make my visits so miserable aren’t working. These two employees that work the day shift are yet to go a day without giving me attitude when taking my order or handing me my food, now I’ve worked at a McDonalds before so I get that its not all sunshine and rainbows all the time and for that reason I’ve tried to be considerate and doing my best to make my transactions as smooth and as easy for the employee as possible. Now I’m not sure how a BK works so maybe I haven’t been helping them at all, but I doubt I’ve been making their job any harder, so the attitude everyday gets annoying, I’m just trying to get my food and get back to my job not fun driving back with a mood. There have only been two visits where they were nice and friendly and at first, I thought the past may have just been bad days but looking a little closer I saw that their whole HR was there for remodeling or something and they probably didn’t want to lose their job. I’m not asking to be best friends or for anyone to kiss anyone’s Behind but how hard is it to answer yes no and ok in a tone that doesn’t ooze inpatient’s, annoyance, an attitude that says I’m too good to be doing this. Today was just the breaking point to be honest I had already ordered on the app and my friend needed to order at the speaker, we communicate this and she couldn’t hear us so we repeat ourselves and we hear what we thought was “for who” so we repeat the name for the order and she goes “no what’s your second order?” in the most bitchy attitude, like damn my bad so it ok that you need for us to repeat ourselves because you couldn’t hear but when we don’t hear you correctly we get a side of attitude with those fries? Pretty much the rest of the order making was met with responses that made you just want to finish ordering and get out of there which is nothing new but when we get to the window, we want to attach our code to the order since we couldn’t mention it at the speaker. We tell her we have a code, and she makes the most exaggerated eye roll and shuts the window on us. There was no “give me a moment” or “ok let me just take this order” nothing like that and we ended our transaction with that extra sass I don’t remember ordering. We head back to work, I had planned to leave it at that but then we get to work and were missing an order of 4x nuggets and 1x nugget from an order of 4x, I get completely missing an item but missing one out of four is too funny, no straws for our three drinks, and they messed up the sandwich I ordered. All minor things that would’ve just been tossed to the back of my mind had this not already been an issue that had been snowballing till I got to writing an essay as my first review. Like I feel like a Karen right now and honestly could care less if I am because all I want is my food without all the attitude, life sucks we all have to work, in my book there’s not a person or job better than another so the pompous attitude isn’t doing it for me. I don’t want these employees fired or anything like that but just brought to there attention that the attitude got to stop or don’t work in the service industry but just in case nothing come of it I guess no more BK lunch’s for the time being

I want to give recognition to the crew working the drive thru at about 2pm. Exceptionally nice and contagious positive energy from the gentleman at window two, and just the nicest demeanor from the other gentleman at window three.

I hope management appreciates this crew and takes the time to say so.

Update: one of the guys that was working was Isaiah! Went back this morning (Sept. 1st) and still very respectful and polite. Also, gave us fresh food! Overall, great experience when hes working!

We got burger king on august 17th around 9:19 a.m. and the two guys working were the absolute best! Very polite and respectful and they really made our experience great! Having employees who show outstanding customer service is the most important part in a business. Because of this we will from now on only go to this burger king. Thank you!

Staff member who took my order was very professional and courteous. As silly as it seems that employees bright attitude put me in a good mood the rest of the day (i ordered breakfast). Order came out correct and promptly. they put the napkins in the bag for my take out order.

I place an online order and asked for my fries made well done or fresh to the person in the phone yet ignore my request and puts 3 ketchup for my fries and two burgers I dislike the kind of people who don’t put effort into their job and rather give me the complete opposite I got these hard old fries I disappointed first time doing an online order and I got salty old fries and not what i paid for I wish they can fix this or do better cause I don’t think that’s its right or should be fair to treat someone who’s kind and wants hot fries and hot food 🙁
