Jon’s country Burger?
Maybe if you’re in Ethiopia.
Nasty, expensive, surrounded by dirty tables.
If MacDonalds burger is a 3 this is a 2.
Plan on picking fat chunks out of your teeth from a burger as thick as a pickle slice and bacon is thinner than the cheese. Never again

Pic is a Real Country Burger.

This place is exactly
what I wanted when I saw it. Was driving through Mt Pleasant on a 3 1/2 hour road trip from Ohio and saw it on the way and made it my mission to stop when coming home. The Country burger was great and the onion rings perfect crisp.

From 1/23/26 Detroit Free Press:

Jon’s Country Burgers, a popular longtime drive-in restaurant in Mt. Pleasant, is permanently closing this weekend after operating for nearly 70 years — and customers have been rushing to enjoy a final meal.

On Wednesday, Jan. 21, Jon’s Country Burgers’ former server, Katie McGann, who now manages its Facebook page announced that the restaurant plans to close on Saturday, Jan. 24, or when supplies run out due to “unforeseen circumstances.” In an update Thursday night, Jon’s announced Friday will be the last day.

The somber announcement expressed gratitude for the restaurant’s loyal customers and staff, and encouraged customers to share any favorite memories in the comments, but the reason for the sudden closure was not announced.

I have never gone here in the 20 plus years I’ve passed it. Went today with the fam. The mushrooms were hand breaded, they were great. The burger was tiny and a bit dry for my taste. My kid’s Mac n cheese was very blah, probably the worst thing we had, father verified, since the kiddo didn’t finish it.

But overall, the idea of the old time restaurant is cool and it’s definitely something different. Unfortunately we won’t be back. If you like deep fried mushrooms I do highly recommend those.

Litterally the dumbest thing ive ever experienced. Not only are they using styrofoam everything, but this “large greek salad” is comperable to the size of my wallet. And they’re charging 7 dollars for this!? Huge joke. I commented on the size to the waitress, and she brought out an additional CUP of lettuce!?!?!? There is no way i could ever recommend this place to anyone… unless you want to be ripped off.

A Hidden Gem with a Nostalgic 1950s Vibe – Jon’s Country Burgers is a Must-Visit!

Jon’s Country Burgers is a fantastic throwback to classic Americana, offering high-quality, fresh food with a side of vintage charm! This drive-in restaurant delivers an unbeatable combination of convenience, speed, and friendly service that makes every visit a delight.

I ordered the crispy, golden-fried fish with crinkle-cut fries—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fish was light and flaky inside, with a delicious crunch on the outside. The burger was another standout, stacked with fresh toppings, melted cheese, and served on a toasted bun that tied everything together. Paired with a side of creamy coleslaw, it was the ultimate comfort meal.

Jon’s Country Burgers nails the classic diner aesthetic, bringing the charm of the 1950s to life with its retro vibes and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by for their daily specials or a quick, quality meal, this spot is a true gem. Highly recommend for anyone craving a taste of nostalgia and top-tier comfort food!

The burger and fries I got were good, fries nice and hot so I’m guessing they make to order which is perfect, the size of the burger for what I paid for it in my opinion not worth the cost, when I got the burger I had to open it up to even see the patty. The Coney the chili was good, didn’t like the hotdog at all. Paid $31, wasn’t worth it
